They make another pinkish-whitish pencil from your eyes, but I just use the High Brow for my browns and dotted on the inside corners of my eyeballs.
― carl agatha, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 21:45 (thirteen years ago)

love benefit!
― surm, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 21:47 (thirteen years ago)
Benefit is so great for enhancement products that look very natural if you happen to be the right skin tone (which I am).
― carl agatha, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 21:51 (thirteen years ago)
use the High Brow for my browns
lolllllllll that is one of my favorite and most frequent typos.

what is the Benefit skintone?
my skintone is seriously right in between pink and yellow! it has confounded the make-up ladies. you know that test where you look at your veins in direct daylight and if they are green your skintone is yellow and if they are blue your skintone is pink? my veins are honestly green-blue/blue-green. eesh.
― obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Tuesday, 11 September 2012 21:59 (thirteen years ago)
Caucasian pink, I guess? A lot of their products designed to enhance only come in one color (though they claim that anybody can use it, which is pretty disingenuous IMO), and even their products that come in different tones usually only have two options and don't go very dark.
Wait, their new foundation (Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW hahahahahahaha)goes a lot darker than their other stuff, so that's a step in the right direction.

"Its nourishing formula contains Benefit’s exclusive Oxygen Wow Hydrating Complex, which helps boost cellular respiration for a 'plumping up' effect, protects against environmental stresses, and contains vitamin C and E derivatives known to prevent the signs of aging."
Oxygen Wow Hydrating Complex. I'm dying.

I am a very cool-toned pale freak. I used to think I had a neutral skin tone, but discovered I am on the cooler end recently. No wonder foundation went orange on me for so many years.
Hey, so I know this ain't the hair thread, but I used John Frieda at-home hair dye last night. I did "lightest cool almond brown" - the result...? EXACT SAME SHADE AS MY NATURAL HAIR COLOR. Guess I played it too safe.
― homosexual II, Tuesday, 11 September 2012 22:58 (thirteen years ago)
did it at least make it shinier? i often dye my hair close to my reg shade cause it ups the shininess a lot
― the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 11 September 2012 23:15 (thirteen years ago)
wooo mandee! Love that look. I haven't tried to put white on my waterline since grade school (cheeeap makeup); I should give that another try.

Otm! I use a strong shimmery white pencil around tear ducts for stage performances and heavily line and swoop the outside edges, because otherwise it looks like you have no face at a distance/under strong lights.

Guys I am so busy at work and going to shows this week (JAMC tonight so good!) but I will share passwords/get things going at the weekend. I love u all, a lot.

i want to do this face
― the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 12 September 2012 05:14 (thirteen years ago)
You so should. I see a shimmery grey/blue all over the lid, darker blue in the outer corners, line all the way on the water lines (upper lid and lower) and then a super matte lip stick with lipliner. Maybe CHILI by MAC.
― homosexual II, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 05:36 (thirteen years ago)
here's Chili

HMMMM I like the efficiency of having both products in one pencil.

Chili looks otm
― the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 12 September 2012 17:02 (thirteen years ago)
excuse my ignorance but i am genuinely curious (as i currently use the same one for both!) -- what is the difference between the one you use for the inner eye and what you use for the waterline?
― rayuela, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 17:04 (thirteen years ago)
The waterline one is more of a off white pencil with a tiny touch of pink while the highlighter side is larger, softer and is more of a bright but natural white/pink color. The highlighter is also good for under eyes.

that's the thing! it's like my hair looks GREAT. but i think i am shiny or something. i don't usually have shine control problems but i think i need to do re-apply powder.
― surm, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 21:20 (thirteen years ago)
Do you use blotting papers? I love the hell out of those things.
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 21:24 (thirteen years ago)
i really need to get some more. they are so so helpful for summer, i remember.
― surm, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 21:25 (thirteen years ago)
I never have shine problems anymore. I can't use powder at all
― the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 12 September 2012 21:29 (thirteen years ago)
I have packets of blotting papers: 1) in my desk at work; 2) in my purse; and 3) at my house. ABB (always be blotting)
― carl agatha, Wednesday, 12 September 2012 21:31 (thirteen years ago)
What are the best reasonably priced blotting papers? I have some crap from Sephora (can only get 10 sheets out at a time) and some super-expensive Japanese stuff that I don't want to become reliant on.

Elf has some pretty good ones that are $1.something USD for 50 sheets. The Sephora ones are way over priced.
