gah shit i mean sherwin-williams for about 50/gallon or behr for 30/gallon, think dunn-edwards runs about 75

lowe's has a cheap one called "olympic" which is supposedly very low VOC content

yeah, home depot's higher end is behr, I was thinking lowes is valspar?

We used one x Farrow and Ball (Pelt, fyi) but the rest was copied - just Dulux or whatever. Cheat codes are the best bit about knowing people that do this for a living!

ime there is a huge difference in the paint colors achievable in different brands. Obv a huge part of what you pay for in $$$ paints is their ability to be on top of the "new" and designer colors--asking yr average attitudinal high-schooler Home Depot employee to eyeball something like that seems risky.

I was looking for a particular brick red last year and more than one of the lower-cost paint companies just DID NOT MAKE anything comparable. I settled for a red-orange that turned out to be horrible and I had to paint over it, never used it for anything.

I have just learned that Home Depot has a paint brand called YOLO Colorhouse.

OH, I TRIED THE YOLO PAINT. It was the LOVELIEST COLOR on the internet, and I couldn't find the same light blue in any other paint line that I had easy access to. So I ordered it, and it's online ONLY, cannot see in stores.

When it came it was so pale it's almost not tinted. I used it because I needed a ceiling paint for that room but it is NOT what I ordered. Never been sure if it was a faulty gallon or just me not getting a color chip first like a responsible person.

It went up so light it's barely visible gray. Barely. Even right up against white walls, it is not a blue ceiling. It makes me so mad.

my bf and i bought ecopaint and it was kindof a mistake since it went on p poorly and enough extra coats to make it p costly and i dont even really know how much better it is for the environment than other paint

Oh, that didn't work: it was the Air.06. On-screen it's a pure light blue. Apparently it goes up like this (which I did not see before buying):

Anything. Not vertical blinds. But probably I don't have any vision.

the blinds are not ideal perhaps but really not so bad - i think they do suit the decor in a way

i like the general vibe of your home but i think you could use some more PLANTS
but i always overdo it with plants why because they are alive and green and planty

i mean if you really want to 70s it up, get some ferns

yeah plants are on my list ... for example the very top shelf of the wall unit is open for ... hanging ferns!

and in the space between the fake baha rocker and the speaker i want to put a little plant shelf, like a sawhorse type bakers rack deal

my friend made this at the walker museum via some sort of generative artwork machine and brought it back to me, so i hung it over this ikea lamp to diffuse the light a little more

man i love plants, always want more. i have a couple that are kinda dying and i'd like to replace them but i have been told that i need to cut back on the plants :-/

I tried to grow plants in my kitchen and they all died within 2 weeks. I honestly don't know what it was. I tried to revive the parsley by putting it outside in the full sun but it still expired even with sun and water.

yeah i feel like i need to be really careful, i'm trying to just make sure i can keep my outdoor plants alive first, plants are not really meant for indoors!

my ficus is doing well though

OK, this is kind of bad but I have a tall metallic vase, the kind that they sometimes have fake decorative grass sticking out of in stores, and I have some "pet grass" I planted for my cat that he seems uninterested in. It's wheatgrass, iirc. Thinking if I can figure out a way to embed it at the top of the vase it may look not quite like a furniture store?
