it's black
doesn't offer the wide coverage i was expecting, but it does the trick

B0urj01s is sold at Sephora

Not anymore :(

tokyo rosemary, Saturday, 18 August 2012 03:54 (thirteen years ago)

I can hardly tell you how happy it makes me that someone else knows what Battenburg lace is.

check the name, no caps, boom, i'm (Laurel), Saturday, 18 August 2012 05:56 (thirteen years ago)

I have to say - I got a lip liner that is clear/silicone and it works like a charm. I had a bunch of lip glosses that I never used because of smudging and now that I have this, I just outline the outer edge of my lips, slap some lipgloss on and nothing runs! Finally the tube of MAC's Russian red is getting some play. To be fair, I never really experimented much with standard lip liner (the dark brown lines of the 90s still haunt me).

Oh what a neat idea! That makes so much sense.

FYI, I love this Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation. It took me a couple of days to figure out the right amount to use but I got it and now I'm a foundation convert.

ms. cookie (carl agatha), Thursday, 23 August 2012 14:21 (thirteen years ago)

aha
the right amount! that's an important thing.

laurel will remember when i tried some bb cream at her place and at first it was like an extremely thick weird almost waterproof grey kabuki mask
then i fixed it, but wow that stuff was weird.

these albatrosses have no fear of man (La Lechera), Thursday, 23 August 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

TARTE DISCONTINUED my foundation :(

However, I have discovered Estee Lauder Double Wear - THIS SHIT IS THE BUSINESS. Best foundation I have ever used by a long shot.

I got bored today and did crazy makeup.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 2 September 2012 21:57 (thirteen years ago)

its a very carefully manipulated glamour shot... i had to take it a couple times because my undereye bags looked insane. BUT THANKS!

homosexual II, Sunday, 2 September 2012 22:02 (thirteen years ago)

pshht you always look fab :)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 2 September 2012 22:03 (thirteen years ago)

ooh so glamorous!
I would like to get a more glamorous foundation for occasional fancy evening wear. Maybe that one is it...

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Sunday, 2 September 2012 22:52 (thirteen years ago)

I couldn't pull off that lipstick but I love it a lot. Pretty lady.

What brand/shade is that lipstick? I like it.

tokyo rosemary, Monday, 3 September 2012 16:41 (thirteen years ago)

homo II, as always, gives good face
que bella!

these albatrosses have no fear of man (La Lechera), Monday, 3 September 2012 18:37 (thirteen years ago)

LOVE your eye makeup (well, the whole thing, but hell yeah on your eyeliner in particular)!

quincie, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 01:52 (thirteen years ago)

Oh and ELDW gets major kudos on makeupalley. Hence the fact that I know it is known by acronym.

quincie, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 01:53 (thirteen years ago)

lipstick is Ben Nye "Pink Tart" - they are only about $9.

homosexual II, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 04:52 (thirteen years ago)

I have a gigantic Sephora palette that I got for Xmas last year. I get one every year. They are worth the money (and are only like $50!)

All over the lid I used a really light blue. In the crease, a bright copper. In the outer corner of the eye a darker copper brown. Then shit tons of eyeliner (Liquid on the top, a pencil on the bottom and along both the water line and underneath the eye)

homosexual II, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 04:54 (thirteen years ago)

ooooooh what do you use on you waterline? I can't get anything to stay there :(

quincie, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

Some cheap Revlon thing... I have trouble getting eyeliner to stay there for very long, too.

homosexual II, Tuesday, 4 September 2012 20:01 (thirteen years ago)

revlon colorstay always stays on my waterline

the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Tuesday, 4 September 2012 20:42 (thirteen years ago)

Love mand33's makeup too!

Work is hosting a video contest for new product, I said what the hell: behold my cheesy self, low production skills and utter lack of talent! Ran out of light so had to do with the best of a few shitty closing shots. Sigh. But there aren't many entries iirc so maybe I'll win anyway.

(posting this bc I'd get a total kick put of another ilxor video, let's all make cheesy videos yeah?)

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 01:58 (thirteen years ago)

Ha! Your delivery is perfect. :)

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:01 (thirteen years ago)

How fun to hear a voice!

these albatrosses have no fear of man (La Lechera), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:03 (thirteen years ago)

xp Haha, thanks. In my head it was a lot more amazing.. Ah well! My sister is shorter than me so I feel very tall in this.. I wish I'd actually worked on this over the weekend (it's due tomorrow) so I had more light to work with!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:06 (thirteen years ago)

agh! FFM you are adorable!

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

I think it's good, honestly. Totally serious about the delivery - it's very comercialesque. What's the prize?

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

Voices are what I love most about meeting Internet people, definitely! I was being a little theatrical (nervous) but I think that's pretty much me.

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

and your delivery is super-pro. I watch a lot of America's Next Top Model (therefore me = expert), it's hard to be natural and sell product and you are awesome at it!

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

You sound like you're acting but I can confirm that that's pretty much what you sound like. You say "eh" more irl.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:08 (thirteen years ago)

Aww, thanks :) its $300 cash! Figured I'd split it with my sister if I win. It'll be played on YouTube & linked from the website... Cringe worthy.

LOL I do say eh a lot more! ;)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

Yay! *goes back to being fierce*

Anyway that was fun. And the product is really great! It's the stuff that has allowed me to break out my goopy MAC lip gloss again. I propose from now on we do video reviews of products we want to suggest on this thread. ;)

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:14 (thirteen years ago)

That was so cute! And I want to try the product, so A+.

carl agatha, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:29 (thirteen years ago)

You could probably do this with any clear lip liner, but this one's silicone and invisible and kinda cool. Here's hoping this is better than the other entry they received!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:31 (thirteen years ago)

You pro! I'd be all 'This.... is the, erm, the thing that I use for the....hang on....' I'm bad enough at creating voicemail messages, let alone youtube videos.

ljubljana, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 02:34 (thirteen years ago)

awesome vid, lex!!! your voice is deeper than i expected

just1n3, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 03:38 (thirteen years ago)

I channeled my inner drag queen tbh. That and ANTM marathons in the days of yore. ;)

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 04:29 (thirteen years ago)

What a fun video! I hope you win, that is great!

Jaq, Wednesday, 5 September 2012 04:44 (thirteen years ago)

cute video and I can relate to the premise. Lol

the most astonishing writer on ilx (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:23 (thirteen years ago)

There were four submissions! It's not quite the cinch I hoped for, hehe. But I think mine is the funniest. I wish my job was just making spoof videos all day long.. My coworkers howled watching me 'walk to work' while the sun set. Seems my job is not the office job I'd implied..

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:31 (thirteen years ago)

I thought it was supposed to be the sun rising and that you were up and at 'em super early.

(✿◠‿◠) (ENBB), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:43 (thirteen years ago)

That's what I was hoping! But my coworkers just think I'm a hooker. Surprise surprise! ;D

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Wednesday, 5 September 2012 13:44 (thirteen years ago)

yeah i was sure it was the crack of dawn too
