We are reshooting our staff photos today with a prof photographer. Last night I was frantically looking for new foundation and a sephora clerk assured me this looked good but I just went to the bathroom and I look yellow! I'm kind of freaking out! What do I do? Lots of powder?

tehresa, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

I should have known she was crazy when she told me an even darker one looked good... And when she gave me eye makeup in the completely wrong color family with so much crease shadow I looked like a hooker. I didn't buy her eye look but I really needed foundation. I will return it but new I'm freaking out!

tehresa, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 13:54 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe just tell photog you are concerned and ask that he/she double check it when doing photoshoppy stuff.

Maybe not so much on the powder so you don't look chalky.

You are v v pretty and the pic will be awesome, don't worry!

quincie, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 13:54 (fourteen years ago)

Thanks...I will alert her for retouching purposes. I'm also managing the shoot so by the time I have my session in gonna be so haggard!!

tehresa, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 14:02 (fourteen years ago)

This is the only time I've ever had the opportunity for a pro photo and I wanted it to be perfect :(

tehresa, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 14:03 (fourteen years ago)

Could you rub a little body lotion on your face to whiten the fdtn?

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Tuesday, 12 June 2012 14:56 (fourteen years ago)

I had my staff picture taken and the lights were so bright I honestly look like i'm about to cry! I don't want to be all diva-esque so I didn't ask for a re-shoot but man that pic is awful

kinder, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 16:22 (fourteen years ago)

It turned out looking sort of ok, though sadly I and another of our staff had to reshoot indoors because the outside light was not complimentary to our fair complexions.

tehresa, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 21:56 (fourteen years ago)

Ha, I have that same problem!

ljubljana, Tuesday, 12 June 2012 23:42 (fourteen years ago)

I was a little sad bc I wanted my shot to be by the trees. I like trees.

tehresa, Wednesday, 13 June 2012 01:28 (fourteen years ago)

look what i found while visiting the parents
sadly, it was empty so there was nothing to sniff/laugh at inside :(

Totally had the exact same one.

I had the weirdest memory the other day that's not cosmetics related but does anyone remember little gym kits that came with equipment and sweatbands and was called "Get in Shape Girl"?

wolf kabob (ENBB), Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:37 (fourteen years ago)

Don't remember those but I want a caboodle!

We don't have Target yet (2013 launch)! I have an elaborate system of storing shit in a tiny three-drawer plastic shelf thing from the dollar store :)

lol at these get in shape things!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:39 (fourteen years ago)

My Caboodle was a different color.

ENBB: yes!!!

tokyo rosemary, Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

i didn't have it though

game of crones (La Lechera), Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:48 (fourteen years ago)

Get in shape girl!
You'll love the feeling!
Get in shape girl!
It's so appealing!

I didn't have it either. I sure did the Jane Fonda workout record a lot, though. Make it burn!

carl agatha, Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

hahah I don't remember the song!

wolf kabob (ENBB), Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:57 (fourteen years ago)

we did jane fonda workout in gym class

game of crones (La Lechera), Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:58 (fourteen years ago)

Also remember going to an aerobics class with my mom and doing a routine to All She Wants to Do Is Dance.

carl agatha, Thursday, 14 June 2012 15:59 (fourteen years ago)

AWESOME

wolf kabob (ENBB), Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:00 (fourteen years ago)

I used a black...something to keep my cosmetics in high school. (It might have been a real small toolbox, I don't remember.)

And pony rear

carl agatha, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:14 (fourteen years ago)

Sometimes we did aerobics in gym class. I remember one tape our teacher fast forwarded past one exercise because it was pelvic thrusting. I guess that was inappropriate for 12 and 13 year olds. Or at least Mrs. Davis thought so.

tokyo rosemary, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:33 (fourteen years ago)

lol. I feel like there was a lot of pelvic thrusting in aerobics.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:43 (fourteen years ago)

I did a lot of aerobics in the 80s thanks to being a tubby kid with a skinny mom who was sad and confused at how she could have produced a tubby kid, and the kind of pelvic thrusts that require you to lay on your back, then lift your butt into the air and thrust were very popular. Also the dog-peeing-on-the-fire-hydrant move.

carl agatha, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:47 (fourteen years ago)

I've never been coordinated enough for aerobics--I get out of sync and fall over very quickly. (It's one reason why I was in special ed PE until I got enough credits to get out of PE altogether.)

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:48 (fourteen years ago)

The hips in the air thrusts were kind of racy, especially when you consider that people really did wear leotards to aerobics classes.

xp Christine, my mom was notoriously goofy in these classes. We were always in the back row and usually spent half the class just dancing around because neither one of us could figure out all of the intricate footwork.

(aerobics gym danceoff movie, worth your 1:21)

game of crones (La Lechera), Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:50 (fourteen years ago)

One more bit of personal aerobics trivia: on Jeff and my first date, we watched the US aerobics championships at the Brewhouse Cafe in Atlanta.

carl agatha, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:52 (fourteen years ago)

awww!

That was me in any sort of exercise/dance class ever. It was esp bad if there was a mirror because I could never figure out if I was supposed to watch the mirror or the instructor and wound up looking like the biggest goof. This happened in my Funky Fitness class. lol check out my friends smoove pose: http://i47.tinypic.com/2an7ue.jpg

wolf kabob (ENBB), Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:56 (fourteen years ago)

We were always watched very carefully to make sure that we were doing things just like the instructor did.

I spent most of my Special PE time helping the coach/physical therapist with the other kids since I was far and away the most physically capable one in the classes--I was usually the only one that could walk unassisted, forex.

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Thursday, 14 June 2012 16:57 (fourteen years ago)

Have we discussed the national aerobics competitions? And Alan Thicke singing the theme song?

tokyo rosemary, Thursday, 14 June 2012 18:25 (fourteen years ago)

Mum was an aerobics nut. We had Jane Fonda workout albums, the original Jazzercize albums, a vhs tape where you did dog-firehydrant lifts to Counting the Beat by the Swingers....and classes 3 times a week with Berlin's "No More Words" & The Cars "I Know Tonight"
Her instructor had the best leotards, she was amazing.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 14 June 2012 18:33 (fourteen years ago)

if i can imagine counting the beat before target destroyed it would be a great workout song for sure

they settled on 50 Cent because he recovered from his shooting (sunny successor), Thursday, 14 June 2012 19:49 (fourteen years ago)

we had denise someone or other who looked so insanely high it was at first a distraction then a much easier solution than watching her video

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 14 June 2012 20:04 (fourteen years ago)

Caboodles were awesome and the type/color/size of yours was a big status thing in the dressing room at dance recitals! We had get in shape girl, too. So awesome.
