no I have never been to Sephora.. just walked past.. too expensive for my tastes! I got lucky: I was a CoverGirl girl all the way then I got this job that gives me free SBX, so I get to grow up makeup wise without paying retail! hahaha. sadly Dermablend is not one of our clients!

it's not daily or anything.. but new products get distributed and we get $500 (rtl) worth of product of our choice twice a year! So I am going to have to stick around here for a few years and stock up ;)

x-post - oh thank you!! It was a satin ribbon that the hairdresser used as a headband and then tied into this neat bow thing at the back. It was sort of poofed up 60s style at the top/back. Last minute idea that worked really well in the end.

I think it differs based on your selected preferences. I changed mine a bit in hopes of not getting more orange eyeshadow.

I went to a party type thing at a Benefit store last night, where we got made-up and a couple of treatments. It was fun! Although I got my eyebrows waxed, which I've never done before (I tweeze a lot so there wasn't much to wax) and it took off all the "peach fuzz" between my brows and now feels super strange.
I've always thought Benefit was a bit style over substance, but I was impressed by a couple of the products they used. Not enough to buy them all, though...

Just the Boi-ing concealer but kind of wanted some of the eyeshadow creams too!

Boi-ing is my favorite concealer. That shit is like spackle.

this month's birchbox is nice! i got a weleda wild rose facial cream sample which is great because i've always wanted to try it. i also got what appears to be a full size laura geller bronzer. as i've mentioned before, i'm too pale for bronzer. now i feel compelled to experiment w/ it, but i'm afraid i will look really dirty.

Does it blend ok?

Oh shoot, I missed this. I think so! It's a little dense for under eyes, but it's good for spots.

T - interesting - I also got the full size l geller which is sort of amazing because that's like 30 bucks! I've always also thought I'm too pale for bronzer but this seems more like a blush/highlighter combo? In any event I LOVE it. It's sorta bronzy but I think it's working for me. I didn't get the moisterizer which is a shame cause I've always wanted to try that too. Let me know what u think.

i also got a skin hydrator (tbh i don't know what the real purpose of these is) that smells delicious. and some nail polish remover gloves? haha. and a nice kate spade perfume sample.

Christine, TOKIDOKI have a white liquid eyeliner with a chisel tip that gets pretty good reviews on sephora. waterproof too!

Sephora brand also has one but its sheer opalescent white.

Ulta have something that looks like it would be white but maybe not?

Stay away from NYX and Mistique

oh and if you feel like you could use a gel eyeliner Starry have one called Snow White and is supposed to be really opaque. Brush comes with for $6.95 on amazon.

i am trying this laura geller bronzer thing from the birchbox. i feel weird.

Yeah. I still think it's a nice bronzer and product overall but somehow the tan thing doesn't feel right to me. I'm just used to being pale and rosy cheeked, not bronzy. IDK.

I did wind up loving the Kate Spade perfume. I bought the full size already.

The perfume? It's one of my favorites ever. It's not too floral or too fruity - it's just a nice mix, I think. The bottle it comes in is really pretty too.

i think i like the bulgari got last month better, but they are VERY different and both good!

i feel like the wild rose lotion is too perfumey :(

I have the Maybelline brown/black mascara for the colour but don't like the quality. Looking for an alternative very dark brown mascara, but they all seem to be mid-brown.

I still have no clue what to do with that moisture mist. It smells good though.

Is this something like the mineral water misters that were intended to 'set' makeup (whatever they meant by that)?

I think I had one of those once, overdid it, achieved opposite effect.

I'm interested in mascara suggestions, too. I recently started using it and decided I like it. I have a sample tube of Sephora in black that seems fine but I don't ha e much to compare it to. So what are everybody's favorite brands? Drug store, fancy brand, it matters not. (I actually am kind of interested in a fancy brand to try because the difference between drug store blush and the Bobby Brown and drug store (and even Sephora house brand) eye shadow and that Smashbox pallet are night and day.)

I have tried all kinds of mascara and my all time favorite is L'Oreal Voluminous. The fancypants brand that lots of people rave about is Diorshow and I really didn't see the big deal. Every now and then I'll try another but Voluminous has consistently won out.

Christine - yeah, I think it's supposed to be something like that. Still not 100% sure. IT says it contains "heavy water" which surely is just something they've made up.

I got a sample of Bourjois' Volumizer mascara - it has two wands, one lengthens, the second adds weight.. it's pretty great! The applicator is a bit messy so I have to wipe it once in a while but it's done incredible things to my lashes, I must say!

xp Two wands seems kind of advanced… I'll probably blind myself or set my apartment on fire.

It's pretty fun! They sort of slide into each other or something. So first you unscrew the 'top' wand (i.e. how you have used every tube of mascara ever) but then you stick that one back in and unscrew from the middle of the tube and get the big, thick wand! No fire possibilities ;)
