I hope you do not mind me asking but is part of your eyebrow white? My best friend has a white eyebrow. It happens to the coolest women, probably.

Does she have any other white spots on her body? Does she have any problems seeing out of that eye?

yes, my eyebrow is white. i also have a few very small patches of white skin (but i tend to stay out of the sun and i'm so pale that they are basically impossible to see to anyone but me). it appeared suddenly in middle school... dermo said it was vitiligo - same thing that made michael jackson white!

for a long time, i colored it in with an eyebrow pencil. but it looked moronic. in college, a friend convinced me to leave it white. i had it pierced for a while to be *really* weird. then i took it out because i grew up and had to get a real job.

So you have vitiligo rather than piebaldism, then. (The blindness question was because piebaldism can be a symptom of some really nasty congenital disorders.)

I cut my hair today and added some nicole richie-esque side weep bangs. Looks pretty good and my layer cutting is excelling which is a good thing since cunky perfectly straight layers are NAGL. Also I will be blonde again in the next two weeks.

shoot, any hot roller pro tips? i've got my hair in rollers but i only had enough to do the bottom 3/4 of it and i think the top layers will get curling iron for more control/better curl. but i'm afraid the rollers are going to come out looking scary and the hair will be a mess, and i won't have time to re-do. help!

does leaving rollers in for less long create less scary effect? I have never used them. Go for less time/more subtle effect? I think that would look fantastic on you.

Also if there is a problem at the end of it all, are you any good at up-dos?

as back up i have a clip w/ some sparkly shit on it that i will use for updo or like, half up.
but i am nervous about this bc of strapless dress. i can't find my big gawdy costume jewelry and hair up + strapless will leave me feeling really exposed!

i suppose if rollers look crazy i can try to fix w/ curling iron, but i'm still frightened.

i think until they are cool. the first ones had cooled so i took a few out. crazy! now i am fixing w/ curling iron and setting w/ a pin. hope this helps!

I have been having bra conundrums, this is a solution I had hitherto not considered.

I haven't worn hairspray since I was about 18 and only recently realized that it would actually help fine hair TONS especially when not recently cut. don't know why I assigned it to the style past.

i couldn't get any good pics? so who knows. i think it looked nice. in the end, i hot rolled, touched up with iron, set, then touched up with iron again to finish after taking out the setting pins. the rollers were maybe not necessary except they may have added volume? or maybe just extra damage.

Awwwwww I was either out watching the derby or sound asleep!! But that pic looks lovely, and I'm sure it came out very, very nice. Weird that a set of rollers only held 1/3 of your hair, though?? I do my whole head with a set but they are fat ones.

so I dyed my hair grey and I like it a lot but in certain lighting I think perhaps this would have worked better when I was a dewy 20something.

yes! When I was about 10 I read something about center parts being bad for almost everyone because it draws attention to the nose and any asymmetry; this has been like an unbendable truth in my life and I have parted on the side since!

I have been growing my hair out for my wedding so that I have the length to get a good updo going on. I told my stylist I want something like this. (!!!)

I thought you were supposed to trim regularly when you grow your hair out to make it grow faster. Was that just lady's magazine hogwash?

Also - how about extensions for the wedding? Or a fall? Then you can rock that marvelous updo without fretting about the split ends.

Also - side parts are a great way to change up a hairstyle. And cheap!

I need a trim. And another box of Touch of Grey. And a new life. Another brain would help, too.

eh, I'm getting married in August so I'm good to hold on a little longer for this length! my stylist HAS snipped a few ends from time to time over the last year but not much. She didn't push trims as a way to grow my hair, so..? But I have heard that, you're right!

imo the best thing to do if you're trying to grow it out is invest in some sharp hair-trimming scissors and some coconut oil: once a week, while you're watching tv or something, go through your ends section by section and snip off any split ends, massage some coconut oil in.

shit I shoulda mentioned this months ago! :) do you massage the coconut oil into the scalp or on the ends? I guess scalp. But I am le dumb.

nononono NOT the scalp! just the ends. it'll stop them from getting all dry and damaged. once they're fucked, they only thing you can do is cut them off - there's no way to un-fuck them.
