Wowwww gonna check that out!
― tehresa, Friday, 4 February 2011 19:26 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, it's very good.
― ENBB, Friday, 4 February 2011 19:45 (fifteen years ago)
yeah urban decay seems only so-so to me, will try this Kat stuff!
― quincie, Friday, 4 February 2011 20:26 (fifteen years ago)
I did feel like 10% silly buying something w/like "tattoo artist reality tv show: the brand," who cares.
― totally small truffles (Abbbottt), Friday, 4 February 2011 20:27 (fifteen years ago)
In my mind, that post turned out sounding like Dr. Steve Brule.
― totally small truffles (Abbbottt), Friday, 4 February 2011 20:29 (fifteen years ago)
lol tbh that's why i've always passed over that line in sephora. also bc the colors are too insane and glittery.
― tehresa, Saturday, 5 February 2011 00:00 (fifteen years ago)
yeah i was embarrassed to buy it (the primer) bc of kat von d, but i was on a mission to try all primers and it sadly ended up being the ultimate primer
feel like i should put it in some kind of sleeve to hide what it is, like a fake chanel label or something
― dark link (roxymuzak), Saturday, 5 February 2011 08:49 (fifteen years ago)
I was p convinced advertising was some joke conspiracy to get me to buy stuff over & over that doesn't work.
Fixed.

On my mascara situation--I finally figured out that what I needed was smudgeproof mascara, not waterproof. The only drugstore brand I could find was Cover Girl Professional in Very Black. It's not as dramatic as I want (I wish it lengthened. I've got nice long lashes already, but I still want more), but if I put two coats on, it comes close to what I was looking for.
― Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Saturday, 5 February 2011 15:02 (fifteen years ago)
btw, the 28 day lash dye is available in the US. Amazon carries it, for one.
― Jaq, Saturday, 26 February 2011 00:35 (fifteen years ago)
...and, yes, I've only just realized that I posted two messages about the same product a few days apart. *puts dunce cap on and sits in the corner*
― Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Saturday, 26 February 2011 00:58 (fifteen years ago)
you were consistent tho!
― ☠ (roxymuzak), Saturday, 26 February 2011 00:59 (fifteen years ago)
But while we're on the subject, can anyone suggest a good smudgeproof mascara?
― Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Saturday, 26 February 2011 02:09 (fifteen years ago)
ok i just made like a very upsetting discovery
― i like lucy (surm), Tuesday, 8 March 2011 22:42 (fifteen years ago)

― i like lucy (surm), Tuesday, 8 March 2011 22:45 (fifteen years ago)

― tehresa, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 00:44 (fifteen years ago)

― ☠ (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 00:55 (fifteen years ago)
Face or body?
― Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 02:15 (fifteen years ago)
well. i was using like a sparkling moisturizer sometimes, and that revlon pink shimmer powder. i thought soo cute and everything. yup. that was until i took a couple of pictures on my phone. there is something about the way it reflected off my skin. i looked old :/ i decided i do better with a matte complexion. you know how some people just don't look good shiny? yeah.
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 11:34 (fifteen years ago)
I don't look good shiny, either. I don't think I look old, but I don't look all glowing and lit by the light of my own inner beauty or whatever shiny make up is supposed to make me look like. I even had to stop using Benefit Sugar Bomb blush after like two years because one morning, instead of making me look perky, it made me look like I had too much sparkly blush on. Sad.
Anyway - matte for life! High five!
― phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 13:08 (fifteen years ago)
I think matte makes me look old! But I also hate too much shine/shimmer. I think it's bc i'm super pale. No win.
― tehresa, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 13:37 (fifteen years ago)
I have been turned on by so many to Jane Iredale cosmetics, their base in particular. It's brilliant. All mineral and a 1000 times better than Bare Minerals. The packaging and ad campaigns may seem a little midwestern in tone, but the makeup's incredible.
― b-5-caps, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:14 (fifteen years ago)
I have been using Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliner in Zero(blackblack), and it is too creamy for my taste. It gets lost in the crease of my eyelid:(. In order to prevent that, with a brush I go over it with MAC black eyeshadow. That keeps it in place for more than a few hours. Still, I must say that I'm on the lookout for a replacement...
― b-5-caps, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:18 (fifteen years ago)
I'm devoted to L'Oreal's "Lineur Intense" with the brush tip, not the felt tip. It's less than $10, and it makes a solid line that stays ALL DAY.
― go peddle your bullshit somewhere else sister (Laurel), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:25 (fifteen years ago)
It's pretty binary, though -- you can't shade it or blend it.
― go peddle your bullshit somewhere else sister (Laurel), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:26 (fifteen years ago)
Rad. I'll try it.
― b-5-caps, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:31 (fifteen years ago)
I'm also devoted to the "Lineur Intense" but I use the felt tip because I find it easier to control. It's my favorite liquid eyeliner by far.
― ENBB, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:32 (fifteen years ago)
Yeah, usually when I replace my liner, it's because the brush got too soft and broken down and flippy, not because the makeup actually ran out. They package the product with the wand NOT screwed into the tube, so the brush is dry when you buy it, and the bristles are really stiff. Still lasts me prob 4-5 months, though, so no sweat.
― go peddle your bullshit somewhere else sister (Laurel), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 14:40 (fifteen years ago)
whats this sparkling moisturizer, surm?
did you use a flash? might have made it look weirder than it really did in person
also im like tza - matte makes me look old, i have to use shiny/wet stuff
― ☠ (roxymuzak), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 20:35 (fifteen years ago)
uh based off what tza said upthread btw -- im not accusing tza of looking old in matte stuff lol
OK so in my drug store mascara competition, the winner is Cover Girl Lash Exact Waterproof, which has good coverage and manages to provide serious volume/length without looking too dragqueeny. And it doesn't budge!
Only problem: it doesn't budge! Now I need eye makeup remover recommendations.
― quincie, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 20:44 (fifteen years ago)
I think that's what I have Quincie, and you're right - it's insane how hard it is to get off. I always thought makeup remover was a waste of $$$ but now I see why it's made!
Secret sidenote: I got a job with a company that distributes $m@$h b0x & I am very very very excited! Discount! Just gotta wait out my 3 month probation.. but then mega yay! Primer! Have already been handed a few samples, loving the tinted moisturizer.. stopped needing to mix up my usual Cover Girl foundation + a dab of moisturizer as I used to!

― calling planet dearth (sunny successor), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 21:50 (fifteen years ago)
roxx it was actually that stila stuff that i recommended before. it's really great just not for me. and YES i did use a flash and i swear to god i'm not kidding i looked 38.
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 21:55 (fifteen years ago)
i'm 27.
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 21:56 (fifteen years ago)
Why did you have to pick 38? ;_;
― phantoms from a world gone by speak again the immortal tale: (Jenny), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:06 (fifteen years ago)
haha there are so many 38 y/os on here atm. me for one!
― calling planet dearth (sunny successor), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:11 (fifteen years ago)
xp Matte paint tends to bring out any and all imperfections in walls, so it's not surprising that matte makeup would do the same for human faces.
― Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:16 (fifteen years ago)
I'm 40! Do I win a prize?
I'm 37! I had no idea all was going to go to shit for me next year!
― quincie, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:23 (fifteen years ago)
oh jesus
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:34 (fifteen years ago)
it's not about that age in particular. it's about the fact that i looked 10 years older.
11, actually.
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:35 (fifteen years ago)
i suspect you 38-year-olds don't feel like looking 48 anytime soon, either.
― i like lucy (surm), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:38 (fifteen years ago)
haha yeah i was just thinking that
― calling planet dearth (sunny successor), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:51 (fifteen years ago)
39, not at all ready to look 49. Can't tell how old I look to other people. I used to look young for my age, now I suspect that my 40th won't be a shock to too many people, except maybe the 80-year-old stranger who asked me in Starbucks the other day whether I planned to have children some day
― ljubljana, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 22:55 (fifteen years ago)
