online -- my boyfriend got me one of their samples, with a small bottle of 5 different scents. they were all so pretty and it lasted forever

I used to love Clinique Happy! It's been a long time but I'm sure I'd still like it, but now I'm pretty much 100% Burberry Brit, all the time. It's so lovely.
― Finefinemusic, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 17:26 (eighteen years ago)
yeah see i really likd the Brit when i was at sephora. but for summer, clinique happy would be great
― Surmounter, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)
if i had to wear one, i'd use comme des garcons man 2. its really really good, but my best (female) friend uses it already
― phil-two, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 18:02 (eighteen years ago)

― deej, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

― deeznuts, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

― deej, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:27 (eighteen years ago)
I don't know why this board brings me such pleasure. I guess I am a closet style obsessive
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:30 (eighteen years ago)
"I came to not-lol at deeznuts' trolling, but then I stayed for the eyebrow waxing advice"
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:31 (eighteen years ago)
deej have you ever noticed that old men are NEVER gay??
― deeznuts, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:31 (eighteen years ago)
u have clearly never seen the chicago pride parade
― deej, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:34 (eighteen years ago)
Also, I have never waxed my eyebrows. I am monobrow and proud.
Also, I am defiantly heterosexual. "The man can't make me go down on other guys; fuck you GWB and big corporate fat cats, get off my ass!"
^^^ omg, what???
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:34 (eighteen years ago)
Why is the HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA always trying to ruin my FAMILY VALUES??!!
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:35 (eighteen years ago)
stop ruining my thread nitwits
― deej, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:38 (eighteen years ago)
My wit is more akin to beehive than lice eggs. Just sayin'.
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 19:40 (eighteen years ago)
Lately I'm wearing Carolina Herrera 212, but my old standby is Chanel #19. Mr. Que's shaving cream smells awesome on him and is better than any cologne he could ever wear.
― quincie, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:08 (eighteen years ago)
i think i missed something
― Surmounter, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:10 (eighteen years ago)

― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:14 (eighteen years ago)
mm i'm trying to remember the hermes scent i tried this weekend...it's new i think?
― bell_labs, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:25 (eighteen years ago)
I also have a thirty year bottle of Givenchy perfume that my Grandma gave me (among other testers in charming ridiculous boxes and bottles) - it still smells good and hasn't burned me yet so I must assume it's safe to wear? The scent drives my boyfriend wild, it's fun to watch!
― Finefinemusic, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:53 (eighteen years ago)
still wearing mandragore + un jardin sur le mediterranee. i love un jardin sur le nil and want it but am so broke.
― horseshoe, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)
there is some body shop scent that i have a weakness for (when worn by the xy chromosome contingent)...i don't think it's "white musk", but maybe it is???
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)
i got this as a gift from my shmancy XGF and it sees some action about once a month:

― Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 23:01 (eighteen years ago)
it's kind of mild and citrus-y. it's also the first (maybe last?) bottle of cologne i've ever owned.
― Steve Shasta, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 23:02 (eighteen years ago)
xposts to myself oh wait, are woman xx? oops
― dell, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 23:04 (eighteen years ago)
i love egoiste
― Surmounter, Tuesday, 24 June 2008 23:05 (eighteen years ago)
i'm currently wearing flower by kenzo, which i love because it's a soft kind of citrusy-chocolate. i used to love au blanc by bvlgari, but that shit is super expensive, i can't find it in a parfum (only a weak cologne spray, which is still like $75).
i really really like perfumes that lean more towards the unisex, soft citrusy scents.
― Rubyredd, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 00:32 (eighteen years ago)
i want un jardin sur le nil, too. also the comme de garcons series 6 synthetic: tar.
― lauren, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 00:43 (eighteen years ago)
lol, there is a beer in philly named "kenzo".... streets of kenny
also, "fleur de lehigh", good grief
belgian brewing aspirations meets penn. dutch culture
i would dab fleur de lehigh on my pulse points
― dell, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 00:49 (eighteen years ago)
kenzo's main line is linens and high-end comfy home things i think
one of my favorite simpsons lines is when moe says "kids, i'm less of a bath guy and more of a cologne guy"
― Tracer Hand, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 00:57 (eighteen years ago)
One of my coworkers gives himself an injudicious slap of cologne in our work lounge 1) after arriving in the morning 2) after eating lunch and 3) possibly other times that I don't catch. It is most noxious. People need to realize that some of us have a rather delicate sense of smell.

I haven't worn fragrance regularly in a while. When I do want a scent however, I really like OP Juice. It's cheap as hell, but it's actually a reasonable light, summery kinda thing.
My nose isn't that discerning, but what comes off most are cucumber and citrus, with a woody kinda base.
The bottle it comes in sucks much one though. I've bought it on three occasions and each time the level that you press to dispense the fragrance has broken off, so that I have to jerry-rig it.
― kingkongvsgodzilla, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 12:33 (eighteen years ago)
My first signature scent was a mess of CK Contradiction, two dabs of sandalwood, and the Camel smoke.

its the french version... i liked the america version because it ended with a model swinging around in a bird cage.....
― phil-two, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 17:18 (eighteen years ago)
I use bvlgari au thé blanc and every time I think of switching I end up far too dizzied by the selection: nothing else seems right, it's all too flowery or too blustery or too acid. So, even though it's pricey... every time one of my family travels via a duty free area I beg them to pick some up for me.
A couple of months ago I went to hug a friend's husband and found he was wearing it too: it was really weird to smell 'my' perfume on someone else's skin, like being stuck in an olfactory loop.
― c sharp major, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)
yeah perfume choosing is hard work. i would never have bought kenzo cuz it smells like shit on a swatch, but somehow smells completely different on my skin. a friend had some and we were goin out in a hurry so i just sprayed it on, and fell in love.
― Rubyredd, Thursday, 26 June 2008 03:33 (eighteen years ago)
I wear A*men in winter and B*men in summer. Best ever.
― Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 26 June 2008 08:01 (eighteen years ago)
Although I'm thankful they dropped the naming convention at that point.
― Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 26 June 2008 08:02 (eighteen years ago)

Not a cologne but I used to slap this stuff on post shave. Made me smell like a barbershop.

I've been going with Dior's Eau Sauvage for the last two years. I'm now thinking of trying sth else
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 24 July 2008 08:48 (seventeen years ago)
i really want to try it
― Surmounter, Thursday, 24 July 2008 14:34 (seventeen years ago)
really understated and perfect for the summer, but it is extremely discreet
― baaderonixx, Thursday, 24 July 2008 14:37 (seventeen years ago)
yeah sounds awesome for summer
― Surmounter, Thursday, 24 July 2008 18:52 (seventeen years ago)

― surm, Wednesday, 10 July 2013 18:39 (twelve years ago)

....
but this time it's for a gift! for my man!
― surm, Wednesday, 10 July 2013 18:40 (twelve years ago)
i love citrus fragrances, personally
― ⚓ (elmo argonaut), Wednesday, 10 July 2013 18:43 (twelve years ago)
It's one the most perfectly designed citrus fragrances ever. Very lemony but really well balanced.
