Yeah, that sounds right. I just looked it up and that mess is expensive! Even for me, and I am kind of ridiculous in my willingness to spend bank on cosmetics!

Just had to stop myself from getting off train a few stops early to go to sephora bc the moisturizer I want is so $$$ I'm not quite ready to let myself buy it yet :(

tehresa, Wednesday, 9 June 2010 22:41 (sixteen years ago)

Which one is it?

i know there are many more expensive moisturizers in the world (hi dere, murad) but for something that's kind of a primer i'd only use in am, it seems pricey. that said, i had some sample tubes of it a while back and it's so nice for summer when you feel greasy. matte finish moisture but you don't feel too dry. ps the smell is delightful!

tehresa, Thursday, 10 June 2010 00:52 (sixteen years ago)

the problem is that i also need to get this, which is an amazingly gentile exfoliator, but the two of them add up to like $80.

tehresa, Thursday, 10 June 2010 00:53 (sixteen years ago)

still lol'ling at the idea of us all meeting ENBB dressed in drag makeup

I had a straight guy compliment me on my eyeliner today. I don't think that has ever happened before!

Has anybody ever tried The Present from Philosphy? http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P75338&categoryId=B70

sinister chemical wisdom (Jenny), Tuesday, 15 June 2010 16:37 (sixteen years ago)

I am chuckling at T's "gentile exfoliator"--poor Jews have to find their own exfoliator.

quincie, Wednesday, 16 June 2010 19:49 (sixteen years ago)

I think it scrubs away the gentile residue, q. Once you try it and see how frum you feel, you'll never leave for the mikvah without it!

let's do it.

kate78, Friday, 18 June 2010 00:59 (sixteen years ago)

one month passes...

I think I have realized it is impossible to wear eyeliner in the humid summer.

tehresa, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 00:33 (fifteen years ago)

an important realization every woman must go thru. the worst is that there are actually women who can wear it and not suffer a smudge.

janice (surm), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 01:16 (fifteen years ago)

ugh hate them so much

tehresa, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 01:22 (fifteen years ago)

i never use eyeliner, just some brown shadow blended into my lash line with an angled brush.

kate78, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 01:50 (fifteen years ago)

mine doesnt smudge unless i smudge it with my hand. i think this is cause i dont put it inside my lash line

roxymuzak, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 03:18 (fifteen years ago)

I am wearing no liner today. Feel kind of naked!

tehresa, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 13:02 (fifteen years ago)

I've been meaning to get back into wearing eyeliner. White is the only color that doesn't make my eyes look smaller. I'd like to try powder eyeliner (partially because it would be easier to apply at stoplights in the car, which is where I put my makeup on). Any tips?

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 13:38 (fifteen years ago)

i love white liner but i've abandoned brown for 2 long. brown liner brings out my eyes like nothing else.

tza i hear you, i sometimes feel incomplete without eyeliner

janice (surm), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 13:40 (fifteen years ago)

all ive been wearing lately is that smashbox green primer. i did get cg line exact liquid eyeliner which pretty much rules.

post class A nasal drip (sunny successor), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 19:57 (fifteen years ago)

really! hmm. liquid liner is usually so hard to put on for me.

janice (surm), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 19:58 (fifteen years ago)

surm this is like a marker. so easy peasey. and cheap!

post class A nasal drip (sunny successor), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 20:01 (fifteen years ago)

omg

janice (surm), Wednesday, 21 July 2010 20:03 (fifteen years ago)

i really like the way white eyeliner looks, but every time ive ever worn it a man asks me if i "have something on my eye"

roxymuzak, Friday, 23 July 2010 05:52 (fifteen years ago)

has anyone tried the tarte lip stain?

roxymuzak, Friday, 23 July 2010 21:41 (fifteen years ago)

one month passes...

So, I did end up trying out white powder eyeliner, and I love it. (I'm using some cheap white eyeshadow and an angle brush, but I intend to start using the proper white matte stuff when I can.) I also changed my mascara to some super dramatic ultra dark black Maybelline stuff and kept the (forgot the manufacturer) Subtle Sheers shadow and (someone else's) eye makeup base and it looks great! Only problem is that I have to use eye makeup remover for the first time in my life. It all looked a little garish the first few times I wore it, but I've been told that makeup that looks OK to me looks too subtle to other people, so I guess I'm all right.

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Wednesday, 22 September 2010 05:47 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, a lot of ladies wear a lot of make-up! i feel like if i put on eyeshadow +liner i'm overdoing it. lol.

when i was in nyc a few wks ago, i bought some Tarte tinted moisturizer and powder (which comes in kinda crazy compact! metallic 'quilted' purple! o_O) - i am liking it a lot! :)

i need a more subtle blush, maybe orgasm (have never tried it). i usually use a super hot pink mac one (dollymix) but sometimes, even super blended in, it feels a bit much... (tho totally goes with my skintone).

i also have a new plum-coloured nail polish! (complete salon manicure, sal1y hansen - this stuff stays ON.) - pretty :)

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Friday, 24 September 2010 18:12 (fifteen years ago)

Oooh I love Dollymix. I wound up getting a Sephora brand blush about a month ago and complet

master of retardment (ENBB), Friday, 24 September 2010 18:48 (fifteen years ago)

oops

completely love it. It doesn't have any shimmer at all and is just a gorgeous light pink. I will check on the name.

master of retardment (ENBB), Friday, 24 September 2010 18:48 (fifteen years ago)

The eyeshadow I was trying to remember up there is Neutrogena Mineral Sheers, in Pebble. It looks like I can get away with wearing more makeup than I thought I could--maybe I really wasn't wearing enough of it.

Christine Green Leafy Dragon Indigo, Saturday, 25 September 2010 04:52 (fifteen years ago)

guys, <3<3<3 stila "nude beach" or urban decay "minight cowboy rides again" eyeshadow!!!

looks better irl. also sadly kat von d's eyeshadow primer is the best one available. i say this after much reconnaissance.

hoos wears orange camo pants ffs (roxymuzak), Saturday, 25 September 2010 23:19 (fifteen years ago)

do you like it better than the urban decay one?

master of retardment (ENBB), Saturday, 25 September 2010 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

yes i do! it definitely works better for me; i might have weird eyelids though. they're like, very smooth and slick. haw. when i started wearing that glittery color^ i really needed a primer or my face would be completely covered in glitter within an hour. oh and the kat von d one i use is the plain opaque one. i can't use anything gel or shiny. just doesn't work.
