http://www.overstockdrugstore.com/product_images/b/022700093915.jpg
and do u use it as an all around powder, or blush?
sorry, i know we've talked about this but i don't feel like scrolling up tbh

You definitely use it as a blush and it's not really very much like that color. The closet drugstore brand dupe for Orgasm - and it's actually really really close - is Milani blush in "luminous".

kind of embarrassed that i was wearing zero makeup when i met enbb tbh

enbb is so cuet that I'd probably be done up like a drag queen if we ever met.

So who wears make-up every day? The only time I won't wear make-up is if I'm staying in all day or going only as far as the launderette on my block, or for a run round the block. For anything else, the basics are
-YLS Touche Eclat for dark rings in eye sockets-Clinique liquid foundation to blend out any red areas, maybe some concealer to cover zits-Givenchy perfect kohl liner on upper lid-Mascara of some kind (Chanel Inimitable at the moment)-quick swipe of powder to hide shininess caused by moisturiser-maybe some natural ish eye shadow- dark eyebrow pencil when I was dying my hair dark
Never really use blush even tho I'm pale, and lipstick feels weird on.When I was at uni I was amazed that most other girls on my course didn't seem to wear make-up every day - maybe they just wore really natural looking shades, although I don't think I look 'made-up' particularly. But I look *really* washed out without it, esp in the eyes.
― Not the real Village People, Thursday, 20 May 2010 01:24 (sixteen years ago)
oh i keep meaning to try that touche eclat. so many people swear by it. i usually wear makeup unless i am just running errands or doing something athletic. if i show up to work/social things without makeup, people tell me i look "tired" (aka, like shit).
― tehresa, Thursday, 20 May 2010 01:34 (sixteen years ago)
every day unless i'm running rly late and then i feel naked
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 01:35 (sixteen years ago)
i have to tell u that blush can show up really nicely in photographs. like yeah in the mirror ur like ohhh i look nice this ivory complexion thing is working for me, but when u have that moment when u actually put on the right amount of blush and then take this amazing picture in which u look like u just had sex and are glowing from ear to ear, u are grateful for blush. u love blush.
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 01:41 (sixteen years ago)
Touche Eclat doesn't completely eradicate my dark circles in the inner eye sockets - mine are freakishly dark though, to the extent that I've had people tell me I've smudged eyeshadow there. Once I tried completely covering them with foundation and I looked like Michael Jackson, though, so maybe it's good to have some shadow there... For what it is, it's pretty good and non-make-uppy, and it lasts aaaaages.
― Not the real Village People, Thursday, 20 May 2010 01:45 (sixteen years ago)
my skin has been so awful lately that i am ready to start wearing makeup every day as soon as i find a foundation that doesn't look awful
― horseshoe, Thursday, 20 May 2010 02:07 (sixteen years ago)
Every day: face base thing, no idea if it does anything; Prescriptives foundation; Chanel under-eye lightener (huge dark circles issues, not sure if this product does a damn thing to help); small amount of blush (just got Orgasm); Mac dark brown eyeliner on top lid and a little bit on the bottom; Maybelline brownish-black mascara. Eyebrow pencil is for special occasions. Can't do lipstick, makes my face square.
― ljubljana, Thursday, 20 May 2010 02:12 (sixteen years ago)
I only wear make up to work/professional things and for certain social things (parties, concerts, drinks - yes, but matinee movies or brunch or just hanging at a pal's house watching a movie - no).
My regular slap includes: zit concealer PRN, under eye concealer/brightener, brow highlighter pencil, blush (all Benefit), brow powder (I forget the brand - it's a woman's name, I think), lip gloss. I'll wear eyeshadow/mascara for suer special occasions like a job interview or wedding but otherwise I absolutely hate it.
A had my brows done at the Benefit counter a few weeks ago and the lady and I were chatting and having a good old time and she started putting a little concealer on and i didn't think anything of it, and then some brow powder but we had talked about that so I let it go and then she was like "look up!" so I did because i thought she had some more brow stuff to do but she put black eyeliner on me! So i figured, fuck it and let her finish up with eye shadow and mascara and then just like that, I had a mid-afternoon, government employee smoky eye. My coworkers LOLed at me but good when i got back to the office.

i used to wear a dash of bronzer, a smudge of brown eyeliner on my lower lid and mascara, then i stopped bothering with mascara, then i ran out of bronzer, then i started working in a workshop with no customer contact so i gave up makeup all together. BUT i bought a whole bunch of stuff for the wedding thing and got all excited to be girly, but that's pretty much lost its novelty. the foundation thing... i just can't do it. maybe i need a really expensive super high quality one or something, but the mac stuff just looks so ~obvious~ to me, which i hate. blush has been an amazing discovery for me, tbh. i never ever used to wear lipstick, but the mac 'syrup' is really natural and pretty.
― just1n3, Thursday, 20 May 2010 03:11 (sixteen years ago)
OMG Roxy - that's so silly!!
Every day = concealer because I have awful hereditary dark circles (I use Touche Ecalt among a number of other things on a rotating basis), mascara (L'oreal Voluminous), and blush (usually Orgasam), pressed powder. I used to wear a lot of lipstick but have been using just balm as of late.
― Aqua Backrat (ENBB), Thursday, 20 May 2010 04:08 (sixteen years ago)
(also rox - xo)
What else do you recommend trying for circles ENBB?

i wonder how safe it is to go to sephora and just ask them for help w/r/t to specific products? do they know what they're doing? i will point them in the right direction w/r/t to some of the things i already have that i just want better versions of, but other than that i'm kind of ignorant
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 14:52 (sixteen years ago)
i really like the new sunblock i got. the sephora employee was very helpful and i told her what i wanted (high SPF, no scent, no more than $30) and she got me something i wound up really liking. atm i can't remember what it's called, but i am hoping it will help me avoid sunspots this summer.

― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 15:01 (sixteen years ago)
I use a tinted moisturizer from MAC. I like it.
― kate78, Thursday, 20 May 2010 15:03 (sixteen years ago)
elta MD does a good one, too.
question: is it possible to use bronzer AND blush at the same time
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 15:04 (sixteen years ago)
cuz i don't want to fall into the trap of looking brown. my friend the other day she was like OMG look at what my bronzer does to my face isn't it amazing and i was like no it takes all the natural flush out of your face.
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 15:05 (sixteen years ago)
(except i didn't say that)
I love the idea of tinted moisturizer, since it seems like it would save time and not feel like foundation, but a good one is hard to find. I've tried the Covergirl kind and the Aveda kind and they both suuuuuuuck. I did have good luck with the free samples I got of Benefit You Rebel (SURPRISE I ENJOYED A PRODUCT FROM BENEFIT) - http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P200309.
I always used bronzer in lieu of blush.

yeah :( the foundation i've been using on occasion is mac studio fix and it does look super-obvious.

totally. that's why I like their tinted moisturizer

What is your coloring like, surm? I sweartogod I don't work for Benefit but they have a primer called That Gal that I use basically as foundation for fancy occasions. It evens out skin tone and keeps my face from being shiny and kind of brightens things up. It's pink, but I don't use much and it blends in with my coloring perfectly (nb: that's why I am such a Benefit person - their neutrals are all ideal for my coloring. The person they used as the make-up equivalent of a "fit model" must have had my exact same skin tone). It doesn't feel or look at all like foundation.
The reviews on Make Up Alley (you should sign up if you have not already! It's a pretty good resource) are mixed - I think for a lot of people with different coloring or skin texture than I have find it to be useless or way too pink. They sell it at Sephora, so when you are making your educational Sephora trip, you should ask about it!

jenny that sounds good! that's what i was trying to say upthread -- i LOVE a nice pink color because i like to look a little flushed, as opposed to bronzed. i believe a Sephora gal once told me my skintone is "ginger" ... so That Gal might be a little too pink for me but i will def keep it in mind! will also look at the MAC tinted moisturizer
― i fake it so real, i am beyonce (surm), Thursday, 20 May 2010 16:45 (sixteen years ago)
Not that I've really tried many, but I've never found a liquid foundation that looks good all over and usually you need powder on top and the texture looks terrible after about 30 mins. The Clinique superfit one I mainly use in small patches.
Grr my skin has been mainly clear for the last few months and last week I got really stressed and now my chin has erupted. It looks like the star-nosed mole on the disgusting animals thread.
― Not the real Village People, Thursday, 20 May 2010 18:25 (sixteen years ago)
I bought an SPF 50 tinted moisturizer but I feel like I have to put on plain moisturizer on anyway to avoid dry spots. And I really can't tell the difference between it and liquid foundation.

Oh! I have deodorant that they make. I read reviews that said it was the most effective "all natural" deodorant EVAR and so far so good. Plus it smells nice.
Is that for just your face or for all over?
― sinister chemical wisdom (Jenny), Friday, 21 May 2010 01:00 (sixteen years ago)
Just for face. It's a pretty small tube. I mean, you could use it elsewhere on yr bod but it would cost you a lot.

is it ungreasy?i hate a greasy spf!i used to use a laura mercier tinted moisturizer w/ spf that was oil free but i still felt sticky.
― tehresa, Saturday, 22 May 2010 16:49 (sixteen years ago)
I would say that's probably subjective. It's less greasy than some but not ungreasy because it's pretty heavy? I dunno.

i think foundation is a bad look for me for summer. i feel so greasy ALL the time. so humid. what a disaster.also my chin is broken out but i think that's hormonal. i am loving COLOR lately. red lips! pink lips! brightly colored dresses! etc!
