obv "Till The World" will take this in a landslide and was bigger than the #1 that preceded in every way except chart peaks: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/2011/12/year_end_hot_100_britney_spears_cee_lo_green_the_band_perry.php

voting for "You Da One," though, since i love that song and it makes me sad that it's one of the most unsuccessful Rihanna singles of the last few years. and the rest besides "Judas" are mostly garbage.

never heard the LFMAO song but I voted that one on title alone

"Sorry For Party Rocking"

kmt not sorry enough

tempted to vote "rain over me" to avoid the obvious britney choice

Roll Up

Bulge Pimp (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Monday, 14 May 2012 15:05 (eleven years ago) link

"Rain Over Me" is totally the worst of these

contendo entertainment system (some dude), Monday, 14 May 2012 15:07 (eleven years ago) link

just looking at this poll put the "rain over me" hook indelibly into my head

"you da one"

k3vin k., Monday, 14 May 2012 16:00 (eleven years ago) link

i like this poll concept, it's just that all of these songs is ass

een, Monday, 14 May 2012 16:03 (eleven years ago) link

yeah i mean i'm just doing it as a matter of tradition, most previous years have had stronger lineups: the best follow-up to a U.S. #1 in the oughts/2000-2009/etc.

kitty shayme (some dude), Monday, 14 May 2012 16:09 (eleven years ago) link

there's three songs on here i genuinely like

i've always loved "roll up", great windows down jam, just a nice, airy, summery beat. chorus is fun to sing to etc.

"judas" was always the best single off 'born this way' imo, and lends more credence to my theory that she fucked up by more or less ditching red one for the album

"sorry for party rocking" is pretty fun, but i had "party rock anthem" in my top 10 last year so \(o_O)/

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 May 2012 16:38 (eleven years ago) link

"payphone" is pretty annoying and limp, has none of the shit that used to make M5 awesome

"rumor has it" is aight but i can see why it quickly got passed over for "set fire to the rain"

"til the world ends" is whatever, obviously massively overrated

"you da one" is okay but rihanna's voice hits avril levels of shrillness on that, and i can't really fuck w/ that

"rain over me" is obv reprehensible

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 May 2012 16:43 (eleven years ago) link

i totally get why people hate "sorry for party rocking" seeing as it's basically lmfao doing justice, but i think it bangs

J0rdan S., Monday, 14 May 2012 16:44 (eleven years ago) link

you really think that is the reason most people do not like that song?

kitty shayme (some dude), Monday, 14 May 2012 16:45 (eleven years ago) link

(1) "till the world ends" which is amazing and NOT MASSIVELY OVERRATED and i'm sick of people being all "oh ppl only PRETENDED 2 like this song bc it is now socially acceptable to like britney and so they all just checked over each other's shoulders to see which song they should all agree to like"

(2) "roll up" which i like for the same reasons j0rdan mentioned above

(3) "you da one" which was quite nice but probably suffered commercially from having been released at the wrong time (i am also convinced "shut up and drive" from good girl gone bad would have done better if not released while everyone was still freaking out about "umbrella")

(4) "judas"

(5) "payphone" ummm actually i don't like this at all

(6) "rumour has it" RUMOUR HAS IT. RUMOUR HAS IT. RUMOUR HAS IT. ryan tedder choruses at their very worst

(7) "sorry for party rocking" i can't even listen to the whole thing

(8) "rain over me" i am just glad that the music-listening public has once again rejected marc anthony

^^ quality post

kitty shayme (some dude), Monday, 14 May 2012 17:16 (eleven years ago) link

as much as i usually hate on adele, "rumour has it" is fantastic. that bridge! the rest except pitbull and m5 are all alright and even those two aren't really offensive or anything.

The Reverend, Monday, 14 May 2012 19:46 (eleven years ago) link

"Payphone" proves Adam Levine's talent for writing catchy choruses you never want to hear again.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 14 May 2012 21:20 (eleven years ago) link

I think 'party rocking' is the last thing on a very long list of things that the ironically named LMFAO should be apologising for.

*glances at the rest of the list*

Yeah, I can't confidently vote for any of these. I'm out.

The Jupiter 8 (Turrican), Monday, 14 May 2012 21:27 (eleven years ago) link

Adele without question; this is actually the song that made me want to buy her album.

I'M THAT POSTA, AAAAAAAAAH (DJP), Monday, 14 May 2012 21:50 (eleven years ago) link

"sorry for party rocking" is classic - a crass witless follow-up that makes the original crass witless hit sound like a fucking tone poem

Till The World Ends, because really, it rains big time over the competition. What's wrong with landslides anyway?

breastcrawl, Tuesday, 22 May 2012 17:27 (eleven years ago) link

You know a list sucks when I vote for something written by Ryan Tedder.

Look at how funky he is! (jer.fairall), Tuesday, 22 May 2012 17:32 (eleven years ago) link
