sure thing, i am happy to add whatever people want BUT keep in mind ballots will be coming in so be timely or people might not see your addition before they vote

did anybody submit some nominations that were a scramble of greek letters? i think they got scrambled into nonsense when i imported the text into the spreadsheet

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 14:59 (eleven years ago) link

i added 'sequencer' by lifelike and 'man or mistress' by levon vincent to the spreadsheet plus a couple of others but they seem to have gone. not too bothered about the others but could you add those 2 please? partic the lifelike as i'll be placing it p high.

second only to popcorn (or something), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 16:38 (eleven years ago) link

i don't think anybody can edit the spreadsheet but me

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 16:40 (eleven years ago) link

i mean, i don't think anybody can edit the spreadsheet except PETE TONG

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 16:40 (eleven years ago) link

one thing that could possibly be helpful - if anybody sees anything split into two or more artist names (for example saint etienne vs st. etienne) let me know and i'll try to reconcile or cross-reference to make it easier for people to search

VOTES ARE DUE BY OR ON JUNE 1 2012

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 16:46 (eleven years ago) link

i don't mean now, it was last week. i thought it was suggested we do that. i mean, it let me do that. anyway, thanks for the adds.

second only to popcorn (or something), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:41 (eleven years ago) link

anyone else have problems pulling up the spotify playlist? or is it a spotify uk only thing?

some dude, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 19:49 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah, I nommed a Greek house tune by Αλλού, it's a collab between Savvas Ysatis and some other guy, and it's really dope (basically these half-spoken, half sung, kinda sleazy sounding vocals on top of deep and minimalist house beat). I used the Greeks letter because I don't how to translitterate them, the record sleeve has only Greek text. Here's Discogs link to the album, the track is called Όνειρα. Maybe someone here knows how to write it in Western alphabet?

Tuomas, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:25 (eleven years ago) link

i'll just call it that on the spreadsheet - like i said it got scrambled in the import and i didn't have time to try to find it in the thread, but i can put it in now ...

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:33 (eleven years ago) link

Allou - Oneira

means dreams i'm guessing

like Joe Pasquale and Gandhi (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:36 (eleven years ago) link

based on what i know about the greek language (which is basically exclusively from formulas) looks like ... allou - oneira (?)

which i guess probably translates to something like "dreams", no idea what "allou" means

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:36 (eleven years ago) link

hah xpost

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:37 (eleven years ago) link

lol i got my transliterative skills from reading Gibbon

like Joe Pasquale and Gandhi (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:37 (eleven years ago) link

i look at that and see ALPHA WAVELENGTH WAVELENGTH, also i think density / resistivity before i think rho

the late great, Tuesday, 8 May 2012 21:39 (eleven years ago) link

late great is there any particular format you'd like the ballots in other than 1 - 50?

Lamp, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 02:48 (eleven years ago) link

Sent off my ballot, now's when I remember all the great stuff that wasn't on there.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:00 (eleven years ago) link

Is posting of ballots kosher? Or would that just take up too much space?

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:04 (eleven years ago) link

think there's three or four things in your list i'm voting for too

i'm predicting daft punk's gonna take this one

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:31 (eleven years ago) link

They are the only group aside from Metro Area that I've consistently listened to over the last 12 years.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:36 (eleven years ago) link

lol dont post ballots it ruins the surprise!!!

anyway sent mine in

henrik schwarz name is misspelled a couple of times once on 'where we at' and on 'leave my head alone brain'

Lamp, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:40 (eleven years ago) link

cool will fix

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:42 (eleven years ago) link

lol dont post ballots it ruins the surprise!!!

^ good point!

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:43 (eleven years ago) link

i still listen to DP but only early banging stuff, not discovery or post-discovery. i don't really listen to metro area anymore but i like them in theory, i guess.

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:44 (eleven years ago) link

Well anyone who saw what I was nominating wouldn't be that surprised.

I think I have the most middle of the road taste of anyone on ILX.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:44 (eleven years ago) link

Yeah, I'm mostly about Homework.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:45 (eleven years ago) link

I think I have the most middle of the road taste of anyone on ILX.

idk i voted for 5 your picks and different traxx by a few other artists ::shrug:: voting for really idiosyncratic or perverse stuff is p w/e anyway w/ these things

Lamp, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:48 (eleven years ago) link

ok pete tong added greek scramble to the list and fixed three henrik schwarz typos. let him know what else he can do to make your poll experience better.

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:49 (eleven years ago) link

I guess its too late to pretend that I've been listening to exclusively Underground Quality and FXHE 12's over the last 10 years.

My pipecock credentials are in ruins.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:49 (eleven years ago) link

I'm going to go put on my hair shirt and listen to Hieroglyphic Being until my ears bleed.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:50 (eleven years ago) link

i don't think your taste is middlebrow! it's just not the same as what i'm going to be voting for.

the late great, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:55 (eleven years ago) link

now validate my taste

Lamp, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:57 (eleven years ago) link

I'm just kidding, don't worry about it. Suppose I feel a little self conscious considering how much my taste has changed.

I tried to vote for what I actually liked and played out over the last 5 to 7 years over what I'm listening to now.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 03:58 (eleven years ago) link

I'm sure your list is incredibly tasteful yet approachable Lamp.

pattern loader, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 04:00 (eleven years ago) link

v there's a 'sound stream' and 'soundstream' on the spreadsheet, also for the latter the track '"live" goes on' is listed twice (but one without the quotation marks).

what I talk about when I talk about Runrig (haitch), Wednesday, 9 May 2012 04:43 (eleven years ago) link

Sorry if I'm dumb, but how the hell do you copy & paste the full list from the Google spreadsheet to Word or some other text editor?

Tuomas, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 08:24 (eleven years ago) link

Also, the list still includes "Knights of the Jaguar", which came out in 1999.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 08:30 (eleven years ago) link

ctrl+c instead of right-click, worked for me (in Excel)

Kind've curious to hear this, Tuomas - is it on YouTube, or could you upload it to YT? Couldn't find it, but my Greek is about as good as you'd expect for someone from NZ.

etc, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 09:43 (eleven years ago) link

yo just a couple (Matt P), Wednesday, 9 May 2012 18:39 (eleven years ago) link

Didn't we already go through a doc and make comments and amendments, has that been lost? I think I flagged a few from the 90s.

Chewshabadoo, Wednesday, 9 May 2012 18:51 (eleven years ago) link

i see jaymc nominated this terrible digitalism track

yo just a couple (Matt P), Wednesday, 9 May 2012 19:08 (eleven years ago) link

flag them again!

2) any of these are terrible gay homo awful NON-house music and should be removed from ballet for indie-friendliness

― the late great

House music is very rooted in gay culture so I don't think starting the poll by using homo and gay as derogatory terms is adequate.

Testing for image size dont mind this.

how do you paste a youtube link without embedding the video? I forgot.

Moka, Thursday, 9 August 2012 17:45 (eleven years ago) link

well image size does get reduced in here. Is it readable as is?

Would be good to just post the link, rather than embedding. For whatever reason, on my iPad this means I can't see half the Youtube videos.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 9 August 2012 19:52 (eleven years ago) link

Thanks guys.

Chewshabadoo: that's precisely why I'm asking how to post the link without embedding.

rusty: vahid still hasn't sent me his ballot and I don't want to leave him out of this since it's his thing, so maybe you're still in time to send me one throughout the day.

the late great, Saturday, 11 August 2012 04:24 (eleven years ago) link

i also forwarded a ballot from dog latin

the late great, Saturday, 11 August 2012 04:24 (eleven years ago) link

ʘ (sic), Saturday, 11 August 2012 04:44 (eleven years ago) link

Moka, Saturday, 11 August 2012 07:12 (eleven years ago) link

Anyhoo that's it, we're closing at 50. No más ballots.

Moka, Saturday, 11 August 2012 07:23 (eleven years ago) link

i think the irony is late was shooting for 50 ballots and by not submitting himself he would have left this on 49. anyway, yay, nice one moka, phew. epic.

second only to popcorn (or something), Saturday, 11 August 2012 07:59 (eleven years ago) link

I figured the irony was he wasn't going to submit a ballot despite originally being the one who was going to be counting the votes.

du mein bestie (micarl), Saturday, 11 August 2012 08:27 (eleven years ago) link

maybe a mixture of the two.

second only to popcorn (or something), Saturday, 11 August 2012 08:35 (eleven years ago) link

i think the 'joke' was that 51 was/is a rather notorious # for ilx because it was threshold for suggest ban so that voting 51x meant that the poll is banned from ilx or w/e

Lamp, Saturday, 11 August 2012 22:44 (eleven years ago) link

SO MANY JOKES
