Without Mick Harvey, but still. Compilation album, new album, all coming up?

I was JUST listening to some of my CCS cds tonight - it was probably more than 5 years ago and they were even better than I remembered - and thought I'd look up if I missed anything of their discography. Hence this discovery.

All this and more!

Modern music business model thingy, sponsor their tour by buying exclusive goodies.

Sorry if I seem like some paid street team, I'm not, I've just always liked their music and still do.

tylerw, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 15:56 (nine years ago) link

StanM, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 16:05 (nine years ago) link

oh is that right? can't believe they're playing detroit the next day, that is like an 18 hour drive.

tylerw, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 16:08 (nine years ago) link

Only East Coast US show is in Brooklyn. :(

curmudgeon, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 16:13 (nine years ago) link

They're not taking a jetlag break between North America and Europe either, wonder how that's going to work out.

StanM, Tuesday, 31 July 2012 16:14 (nine years ago) link

OMG I have a day off in Chicago on 10/21.

the other day i saw Wings of Desire for the first time, knowing that there would be some Nick Cave action. And when the first nightclub scene popped up, I actually thought it was Nick Cave. The song was absolutely amazing! And the "live" performance as well. Just phenomenal. Later I realized that the band was actually Crime & the City Solution, and the song is "Six Bells Chime".

I notice from the recent link that their upcoming tour concludes in Berlin, at the C Club. Is that the same club as in the film?

you're all going to hello (Z S), Tuesday, 7 August 2012 23:09 (nine years ago) link

Curious to see how this new lineup is going to sound... so far all the previous incarnations have been great in their own particular ways.

In passing, David Eugene Edwards put a track up on Soundcloud from the forthcoming Wovenhand album which seems to me to have something of a Crime influence... I guess he'll fit in pretty well.

Holy reunions, Chicago: Crime is playing here the same night as PiL, New Order and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 8 August 2012 21:20 (nine years ago) link

Compilation, tour, new studio album, in that order.

StanM, Monday, 13 August 2012 04:02 (nine years ago) link

ZS - the club (the Esplanade) in WoD does not exist any more - I managed to go there in 1993 but it was probably in its last days.

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Thursday, 23 August 2012 08:02 (nine years ago) link

Nothing new, no, but I was hoping for remastered sound on the early tracks, even though I haven't seen that being mentioned.

one month passes...

anyone seen them? should I shell out for it next week? I used to love this band although admittedly some of that was probably mick harvey-driven.

akm, Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:42 (nine years ago) link

nine years pass...

god dammit - they played in Haacht (10km from me) last week and NOW I find out?

(with quite a different lineup)

StanM, Saturday, 18 June 2022 19:35 (two weeks ago) link

thanks for that as i probably wouldn't have known they were playing 1km from me in September otherwise. i am expecting that to be very poorly attended.

stirmonster, Saturday, 18 June 2022 22:20 (two weeks ago) link

They played at Grauzone Festival (Netherlands) on Sunday

(Mick Harvey was there on Friday
