Do the Pollapse (haha) is pretty new school, comparatively speaking.

I just chose it as it was their jump to a "major" label...which seems kind of silly in hindsight (although DTC is still my least favorite of their well-known albums).

Yeah, it's not that great. Lots of memories though, and I love the live version of "Dragons Awake" with the "oooh, goddamn" part that's not in the original song.

dtc is definitely the last album of theirs i gave a remote shit about. i still think there are some good new wave-y nuggets on there, but most of their charms didn't really survive the pop glazing.

have a feeling my ballot will be heavily weighted toward propeller/titus/bee/lanes with a few from before and after. like most people, i presume.

That's a shame. You should go back and check out the last two Matador albums (Earthquake Glue and Half Smiles of the Decomposed). Both are really good records. In fact, my #1 is going to come from Half Smiles.

i listened to do the collapse last week for the first time in ages, it's not that bad. i don't know if i will do this poll, i own 3 gbv records, and 2-3 pollard side project stuff, kinda don't really feel i know enough of the discography to do it. i do think Speak Kindly of Your Volunteer Fire Department is better than a lot of official records

The "most hated/least favorite" tracks thing kind of fell apart, because there's no discernible consensus on what those tracks might be. Worked great for Zeppelin, but not so much here.

I don't know about your stance on a particular issue (?), but I really truly closed the voting at midnight so I could work on the actual behind-the-scenes stuff involved in rolling out a countdown and still maybe get a little sleep tonight before work tomorrow. But apparently Johnny Fever has a strict anti-bro policy because there is no way that those extra 10 minutes are going to throw off the start of a results countdown because the countdown doesn't have an exact start time. Watched the DVD of the "final" show in Chicago 2004...really enjoyable. As stated above, that man can drink. Was surprised by the lukewarm reception for Tobin Sprout's appaearance unless there's some kind of backstory there. Also, what gives with RP's constant refrain of how all the bands got "jealous" of GBV--can someone fill us in briefly on the intraband tensions?
