3pm EST = 7pm GMT = gah, I'll be out. acceptable to take laptop to pub? and demand use of wifi to hear this?

Dude any chance I could change the thread title so I don't have to keep loading the words 'Fuck my brains out' in huge letters at work for the rest of the year?

Aha. Secret Terius Twitter. Just unlocked yesterday? http://twitter.com/#!/MrTeriusNash

Yeah. How did they find out about the locked Twitter? Anyway, that Twitter feed says Love IV this year, Chronicles of Nikki (+ a book) in February of 2012. Per the Kanye board/ustream he's already recording for the next album tentatively titled Computer Love.

And he has a new protege named Casha? He's working on her album now.

they definitely sound like they were finished last night at 3am when he was drunk off patron and half-distractedly chatting with fans on the internet

Jacques_Lamure, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:35 (eight years ago) Permalink

Am I the only one that's way into these? I'm listening to them on nice headphones and they sound incredible. And "Fuck My Brains Out" is the funkiest thing I think I've ever heard from him.

Evan R, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:37 (eight years ago) Permalink

i like them more with every listen, which is pretty much always the case with dream stuff for me.

must say, though, i'm glad i don't really mind 'odious' lyrics a la make-up bag. because fuck my brains out is pretty odious

Jacques_Lamure, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:39 (eight years ago) Permalink

I don't think they're gonna be on the album anyway

1st time in paris sounds p good yea tho idk i dont really hear 'hits' here.. if anything this sounds closer to his 1977 terius album imo

there shd also maybe be a 'boat' rmx w a lil yachty verse

johnny crunch, Friday, 15 April 2016 00:58 (three years ago) Permalink

The main thing about this to me is that it's thoroughly uncool. And the lack of coolness - or attempts at being cool - is just such a relief. He sounds free again.

human and working on getting beer (longneck), Friday, 15 April 2016 06:42 (three years ago) Permalink

This is totally the best thing he's done since Love King. The 80s teen-movie gloss on "Love Me Back" is a really good fit.

new Tinashe track written by Terius (with lots of his backing vocals across the track) and co-produced with Tricky Stewart. any other big Terius writing/production credits in the past few months? I feel like he's been quiet, even on the writing tip.

two weeks pass...

I don't want to derail the Solange thread with this, b/c it seems like a conversation nobody wants to have, but I've had a hard time listening to this dude since the domestic assault allegations. I haven't cracked why these kinds of allegations stick to some artists but bounce of off others, but I imagine the fact that the allegations came against The-Dream at a time when his career was in a lull actually ended up working in his favor, since nobody was paying attention to him. So he got a pass, but it's all I can think about when I hear him now, and I cringe every time I hear him on "F.U.B.U."

Frederik B, Friday, 21 December 2018 13:27 (five months ago) Permalink

Yeah, most of it is either good or great, actually. 40 tracks is a lot to get through in between Christmas preparations though and terius starting it all off with orgasmic moans (a low point) means I won’t be playing this in the kitchen while the kids are home for the holidays.

johnny crunch, Monday, 24 December 2018 01:24 (five months ago) Permalink

I listened to the whole thing yesterday, but I also went back to his first two solo albums and parts of his third for a sense of contrast.

So: this new behemoth is nice, you know? It's atmospheric and at the least has a skein of what most of us love about him but honestly it's lavish mood music for a stoned orgy - not the concentrated doses of T. Nash that one might desire. I'll definitely come back to this, though.

Groove(box) Denied (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 24 December 2018 01:33 (five months ago) Permalink

(That said, there ARE standouts, and hopefully he'll whittle this down to a 10-12 track collection.)
