i have a video of me in 7th or 8th grade with short lesbian hair and an ugly cardigan, singing karaoke to "paradise city" in front of a green screen. it cost my parents the princely sum of $10.

do rather appreciate that she's humble about her singing capabilities. interview totally fails to address what she's got in the lyrical dept., tho

from upthread: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2011-03-17/rebecca-black-friday-and-cyberbullying/
“I didn’t write it at all,” Black said, clearing up a major misconception. “The other song was about adult love–I haven’t experienced that yet. ‘Friday’ is about hanging out with friends, having fun. I felt like it was my personality in that song.”

kinda having a hard time believing an adult wrote those lyrics...nobody but a 13yr old could possibly have written a chorus revolving around sitting in the front or back seat of a car
― yeah (kelpolaris), Friday, 18 March 2011 20:41 (thirteen years ago) link
Everybody's missing the point if they're going on about how it's so BAD it's good. It's not offensively bad, just offensively inane and boring. We can't even tell how she sings; I'm sure she's fine.

btw I strongly recommend watching the acoustic version muted, it's strangely moving
i thought the lyrics were pretty obviously written by an adult because they were pretty obviously written by someone who just did not give a shit at all, and why wouldn't a 13-year-old give a shit about writing a song she was going to sing
― difficult listening hour, Friday, 18 March 2011 20:47 (thirteen years ago) link
“Funniest part of the whole thing is Rebecca Black is actually [an] amazing singer [with] a unique tone and a fantastic fun person,” Jey wrote in an e-mail.
This was also said in the GMA interview by the dude. And her acoustic version and brief "Star Spangled Banner" rendition also show she is far from the worst singer ever.
So... why the fucking auto-tune crap?

gah, why'd she have to go record the unplugged version. and why does she hold that note that long, her voice sucks, and that just proves it even more.
NOTHING FUN OR LOLWORTHY ABOUT THIS RENDITION IT SOUNDS LIKE A 13 YEAR OLD TRYING TO BE VANESSA CARLTON BY WAY OF KE$HA WHY U THINK THAT A GOOD MIX K HOPE YOU ENJOYED YER 15 MINUTES MY BONERI S NOW GONE

really the most lolsome thing about the acoustic version is the fact that she's singing a tender guitar/piano ballad about being confused by car seats
