Crazy Horses in the top ten, I'm predicting it.

Green Manalishi (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 15:53 (thirteen years ago) link

Just because I'm going out to get lunch right now doesn't mean I'm not staying through for #1. I just might not be commenting for the next 30 minutes.

Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 15:53 (thirteen years ago) link

Oh and I have absolutely nothing to do today so I'm here till the bitter angry end.

22 Metallica · Seek & Destroy (1983) (514 points · 11 voters - 1 number one vote)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUoWZ_zcPpE

Found the only youtube for this song that didnt have a bunch of old fugly dudes on a stage in it.

Info from Wikipedia:

"In attempt to end his batting slump, White Sox baseman Gordon Beckham began using "Seek & Destroy" as his introduction theme in May 2010, replacing The Outfield's "Your Love."

21 Black Sabbath · Black Sabbath (1970) (558 points · 13 voters) (2 number one votes)

Black sabbath from the album black sabbath by the band black sabbath not to be confused with sabbath bloody sabbath from the album sabbath bloody sabbath by the band black sabbath. What kind of originality can you really expect from a bunch of scuzzy day laborers from england that were high all the time though really?

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:24 (thirteen years ago) link

Ok, time to start counting down the stuff that matters and wasn't popped in here by lonely losers wasting their votes I guess.

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:38 (thirteen years ago) link

Interesting that you say you are a "pup", I think there was a post saying you are 14. Lying about your age is unbecoming.

20 Black Sabbath · Paranoid (1970) (559 points · 12 voters - 1 number one vote)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZyVZFJGX5g

Paranoid from the album Paranoid ok you get the drill. The lyrics to this are a pretty good precursor to the fact that Ozzy was never going to make a goddamn bit of sense from here on out.

BONUS WIKIPEDIA TRIVIA:
"In Finland it is an old joke that somebody who doesn't at the moment like the music the band is playing in any concert, is generally bored with current concert (any concert) or wants to peak his/her feelings at that moment shouts (loud so that everyone around and the band can hear) "play Paranoid!" ("soittakaa Paranoid!") just like "Free Bird" is often requested in the United States, and "Stairway to Heaven" in the UK."

really this explains so much

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:42 (thirteen years ago) link

Man, those Finns are crazy.

Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:44 (thirteen years ago) link

#20?!!! WTF YOU PEOPLE!

Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:48 (thirteen years ago) link

too high?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:49 (thirteen years ago) link

No, too low! I thought that was a probably top 10, and maybe even #1.

Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:50 (thirteen years ago) link

well its not like we've had a dearth of of Sabbath... its kind of getting boring now.

Green Manalishi (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:51 (thirteen years ago) link

("soittakaa Paranoid!") just like "Free Bird" is often requested in the United States, and "Stairway to Heaven" in the UK."

The "play Paranoid!" shouting is so common on Finnish gigs that some bands even make preparations for it. Once I was on a gig where some local indie band was playing, and between songs someone shouted "Play Paranoid!", and all of sudden one band member raised a sign that said "PARANOID 100 MARKS, 80 MARKS WITH STUDENT DISCOUNT". (Mark was the Finnish currency before the Euro.) Then someone in the audience started collecting donations in a hat, and he managed come up with 80 Marks, so he gave that money to the band, which then promptly went on to play "Paranoid".

Tuomas, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:53 (thirteen years ago) link

Tuomas!!! Hi!!! Did you like the public enemy track making the list?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:53 (thirteen years ago) link

No, too much metal in it.

Tuomas, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:54 (thirteen years ago) link

lol

Mayor Hickenlooper and the liberal agenda (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:56 (thirteen years ago) link

The only metal tunes I like are "Nothing Else Matters" and "Hero of the Day" by Metallica.

Tuomas, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:57 (thirteen years ago) link

Nothing in this thread at all so far then?

I was the other #1. Far too low.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:59 (thirteen years ago) link

Have you ever seen Spinal Tap, Tuomas?

Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 16:59 (thirteen years ago) link

The Funkadelic tunes are quite okay, but I don't see how they're metal.

Tuomas, Thursday, 5 August 2010 17:00 (thirteen years ago) link
