Marshall amp and a briefcase at the front of the stage? I bet Hendrix never tried that.

instant classic thread. I would book "Slapp."

It's 'The SLAPP' dude... Clearly hoping that they'll get gigs based on their singer's vague resemblance to Steve Harley. Also lol it's an autographed picture!
The glam bandwagon jumpers are hilarious, in each group there are obviously some members who are more committed to the idea than the others.
Would book Pork on the basis of their tagline.

The 1970s was a time when people were really happy to be in bands.

the MAGI truck is requisite cause these bands usually had tons of expensive gear, hauled around their own PA systems etc

God, when will the uniform thing ever come back?

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 28 August 2012 20:45 (eight years ago) link

Warm is such an awesome name for a 70s bar band.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 28 August 2012 20:48 (eight years ago) link

God, when will the uniform thing ever come back?

We were having a meeting about a band that was really fashion-challenged, and I asked, "Is there any chance we could turn them into a uniform band?" There were literal gasps of horror.

誤訳侮辱, Tuesday, 28 August 2012 20:50 (eight years ago) link

I didnt realize Warm played at Woodstock.

One Way Ticket on the 1277 Express (Bill Magill), Tuesday, 28 August 2012 21:33 (eight years ago) link

yeah it's weird i looked up woodstock on wiki and the actual bill was so much different than what was depicted in the movie!

Jandek at the Disco (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 28 August 2012 21:37 (eight years ago) link

like CCR and Incredible String Band played, bunch of big stuff got left off plus some weirdos like Warm etc

haha, I was thinking that too! That could have been slipped into any press kit circa 2001-2005 and no one would have batted an eye.

the grungy photo setting and lack of self-serious "we have come to ROCK you" posturing make it timeless

haha. the reprobate look will never die. that was outside our rehearsal space, which was the basement of a dry cleaners in a strip mall in hicksville long island.
