It's great.

I love how she sings "I made up mind". Definitely better than the original.

I guess have to do this...

Indieholic Anonymous, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

How is it better? It's a pretty cliched "rock" cover, just adding guitars and distorting the vocals, and she has about 14% of the personality of Madonna.

Cliche it may be, good it sounds.

Indieholic Anonymous, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

But how is it better?

Nick A., Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Because I don't like the original, but I like K Osbourne's cover.

Are you a semi-smart person saying stupid things because you're not quite smart enough to say anything worthwhile, or are you genuinely an idiot?

FITE!

Mark, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I don't know, it's not "rock" enough, or "black" enough, or "hip hop" enough.

Fool.

hstencil, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I can't help thinking those aren't actually her own vocals.

In any case, it's crap.

There have been worse examples of capitalizing on a trend. A second season of The Osbournes, for example.

dleone, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

when she did this song for some MTV awards show or other the vocals were all exactly in-pitch but it didn't seem like she was lip- syncing.... some behind-the-curtain "Harmonizer" action goin on for sure

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think it's great too; Madonna was way too old to be singing a song like this when she did and it always sounded stupid to me but now it makes sense. Also, Kelly's adopted American singing accent sounds more natural than Madonna's adopted New York or British or whatever the fuck. This is like comparing Bowie to Andrew WK.

Utter dependence on extra-musical factors for appeal = dud.

briania, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I enjoyed it myself, about the minute or so I heard of it when I was out somewhere recently. If they're tweaking her voice, they did a good job!

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Haven't heard it, but the idea of Ozzy trying to preach makes the concept a WINNAH.

Sean Carruthers, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

It sucks ass.

rat, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

it's funny and it's a good interpretation - the delivery adds aomething new to it. this may or may not have happened with or with out the TV series, but as long as we know she's ozzy's lil' girl, we'd think of him, TV series or no. Which is hysterical. I've been a dedicated Ozzywatcher for years (me and some mates used to do a crap zine which had a running Ozzy theme) and theis recent development is just as funny as him pouring Orange juice all over a bench in The Decline Of Western Civilization.

i dunno if I'd buy the damn thing though.

She's got pink hair and she's a little chubby = top drawer in my book. How good or bad the record is, is irrelevant to me.

i like it, tho its utterly throwaway - and i'm not gonna buy it or even download it and listen to it. i think i just appreciate it in the same way you appreciate a birthday card from someone you consider more an acquaintance than a proper friend

this description of my feeling actually applies to 90% of music i hear and see on TV an all

if she can sing whatsoever, why did they have to distort her vocals that much? the video is shit too, never before seen back-up dancers so off-key but the referencing of the "italians do it better" t-shirt was cute
