Putting aside the Gary and John drivel that makes up the latter two-thirds of this 1978 record, these four tracks heralded the second act of Scott's career. While the twisted torture tale of "The Electrician" foreshadows the socio-political operatic Tilt of 1995, the other tracks—clearly influenced by the (then contemporaneous) Eno-Bowie Berlin Trilogy—point to his (slightly) more immediate direction on Climate of Hunter: bass- and drum-propelled rock, featuring weird parallel harmonies and increasingly opaque lyrics.
Which, pray tell, is your favorite?
