Oops, meant this for ILM.

Eazy, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 20:57 (fifteen years ago) link

So is this moving then?

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 22:32 (fifteen years ago) link

omission of the 12" 'pull up to the bumper' is o_O

banriquit, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 22:58 (fifteen years ago) link

This is very tough!

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:02 (fifteen years ago) link

"Love is the Drug."

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:34 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm thinking "Walking In The Rain" right now.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:38 (fifteen years ago) link

voted nightclubbing. robbie is a fucking monolith on that one

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:38 (fifteen years ago) link

I really kind of love how dripping with trevor-glitz STTR is but there's a whole other album of that, eh. I still remember getting this comp at the radio station and falling in love with it.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:39 (fifteen years ago) link

"Slave To The Rhythm" does feel weirdly out of place on this.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:40 (fifteen years ago) link

I know, even moreso than the johnny cash cover. Classic "oh time to end the album, here goes the rest of the mayonnaise"

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 23:43 (fifteen years ago) link

"Apple"/"Nipple" has always been my favourite Grace 12".

Going with "Apple" because it's morning, and I'm still stretching and yawning.

mike t-diva, Thursday, 26 June 2008 09:14 (fifteen years ago) link

"Walking in the Rain", with "Private Life" and "Pars" close seconds

baaderonixx, Thursday, 26 June 2008 09:25 (fifteen years ago) link

banriquit, Tuesday, 1 July 2008 23:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, I thought I voted for "Unlimited Capacity for Love".

Eazy, Tuesday, 1 July 2008 23:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Sometimes when you have to move a poll thread from one board to another the votes get fucked up

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 1 July 2008 23:23 (fifteen years ago) link

thirteen years pass...

this music is SO fucking good

marcos, Wednesday, 20 October 2021 20:09 (two years ago) link

i love the hard disco of 'hunter gets captured by the game' i listened to it like 100,000x this summer

she's lost control is just on a whole other fucking level, menacing dub reggae version that makes the original (& i don't really need to compare them, i know) feel malnourished

marcos, Wednesday, 20 October 2021 20:16 (two years ago) link

also have you seen this?

never bought the albums proper from this era as this 2cd set is by far the best option.
though i would love a 2cd expanded edition of Slave To The Rhythm.
but thats never going to happen.

but yeah, this is a brilliant 2cd set.

It's a great cold-weather coffee shop album, for some reason. Doesn't feel like "sip a daquari by the pool" as much as "warm up in cold weather" for some reason.

Fashion runways are in cold places with coffee shops. She's the exemplar of haute couture rock.

I adore this remix of “pull up to the bumper”:
