And if so, where?

Tracer Hand, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

It's in a box in the back of my closet.

Sean, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

I've got lots of books on glam rock so maybe my room is the library of glam rock. Does that count for anything?

Lindsey B, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

So Sean's holding it hostage and Lindsey's got the maps... time to call the Equalizer

Tracer Hand, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

*cue Stewart Copeland music*

Glam is where you find it -- for some that means Ziggy, for others Pretty Boy Floyd. Choose wisely.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Why, it's right here!

Daver, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Craven fool! The wreckage of glam is here.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

there is a piece of glam trying to get out of a boy i know called matthew. it takes the form of sparkly things, eye make-up and tight around the penis trousers, but it only happens now and then. you might see pictures if you go to www.bearsuit.com

cherrysqueak, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

oop's that's bearsuit.co.uk . yes oo!....top of the pop's

cherrysqueak, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Arrrrrrthurrrrrr.....! I wanted to edge around to L.A. which I figure is Glam's last stand, like even the gas-station attendants have got blond streaks and light makeup.... (I say, having never been there)

Tracer Hand, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Hm. Is hair-metal glam? Or is Gary Numan?

bnw, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Yes.

Dan Perry, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Gary Numan is not glam. Makeup-wearing long-haired gas station attendants are definately glam.

Sean, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

be more specific. the arty glam or the hairy glam?

A Nairn, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Gary definitely has the glam thing going, he just wore it differently. Take a look at any photo from 1979 to 1982 or so -- more mascara than a Mary Kay convention.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Are Placebo glam? Or just an episode of As If made life?

Judd Nelson, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

As If = grate. Placebo = not. Numan SO = glam.

mark s, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Well, then, if Nooman qualifies, then PINK is where the glam be nowadays. Saw her video; not a good look for her.

Daver, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

pink = punk, daver, as is well known and agreed by all

mark s, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Don't expect answers from me, Tracer. I don't know who or what or where glam is these days. I'm so confused. I just want it to be like this again...

In any event, I doubt it resides in Los Angeles, home of Beechwood Sparks, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, System of a Down, and a million young actors who look like they're in Menswear.

Mall glam, maybe, but nothing I'd get too worked up about.

Arthur, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

are JJ72 glam?Got no idea what they look like, but the lead singers pants sound pretty tight

kiwi, Friday, 12 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Well, this looked really pretty for a minute or two there.

as long as the amazing Ralph Saenz is singing in tribute bands, glam lives. http://www.metal-sludge.com/Ralph2.jpg

paul barclay, Sunday, 14 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Didn't that awful movie kill it? Velvet Goldmine?

briania, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Despite how disappointing Velvet Goldmine was, nothing can kill the awesome power of Glam.

Sean, Monday, 15 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago) link

Quit stalking me, Paul.
