kasabian take down rockists and popists

i don't know these dudes and their music but i always approve of artists talking shit about other artists.

Guitar heroes Kasabian insist The Rolling Stones are "granddads" and should be "drinking tea" instead of performing.

The group, who supported the legendary rockers during the European leg of their A Bigger Bang world tour, met Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards backstage.

And they were less than impressed by what they saw.

Frontman Tom Meighan says, "All I remember is Mick coming up and saying, 'I heard you had a storm, you f**ker.' And Keith said hello.

"But it was weird because they are granddads. They should be drinking cups of tea in their armchairs."

a bit obvious, next one is better

Kasabian have launched a blistering tirade against Justin Timberlake, branding the heart-throb a "midget" and a "puppet".

The astonishing attack comes as the Empire four-piece are riding high in the UK charts with their number one album, and Timberlake is about to top the singles charts with his comeback track Sexyback.

Lead singer Tom Meighan says, "He's a midget with whiskers who is just trying to be black. He's a puppet in a million-dollar suit who's had his strings cut off.

"It's just money music. Absolute rubbish. You can smell the money coming off it. He's a k**bhead."

Bassist Chris Edwards adds, "Sexyback? More like hairy back. It's the worst title of any record I've ever heard!"

Did they express any opinions about under-achieving Indie bands with no tunes?

I can't believe their disregard for such sacred cows! I don't know what I'll do if they start dissing "critics." What else is there to believe in?

"Hello, sir, this is room service."

does keef not listen to his own bands music then? cos a fair amount of their 'rural blues' songs, i find quite ingratiating.

The Rolling Stones are old! Justin Timberlake makes black music, yet he is white! ROFFLE!

I don't think dudes were EVER on an indie label, for what it's worth.

How fantastically insightful! With those witty cutting remarks, this Tom Meighan chap is going to be the Morrissey of this generation.

If he has a fucking shave first.

Unfunnily enough, these are my views on Kasabian.
Corporate "alternative."
There to fill a gap rather than create a new one.
Be seeing you in the MVE bargain basement, chaps, oh sorry you're already in there...

In UK, Indie is a state of total lack of ambition, not a contract.

Same old story. Arrogant fucks saying stupid stuff that gets them a lot of press in British papers. Ever heard of this band called Oasis?

(They were 100 per cent correct about Justin Timberlake tho. As a matter of fact, he made better music when he was in N*Sync and Max Martin wrote their songs :) )

i would take them a lot more seriously if thety had more than one half decent song which was heavily inspired by just by radiohead

See, if they were arrogant this sort of shoite would be vaguely acceptable. As it is, they trawl through the KILL YR IDOLS routine with all the enthusiasm of Alan Titchmarsh burying a Sharpei carcase, because they think that's what RADICAL INDIE MOULD-BREAKERS (c) ought to do, tho it's blatant that they don't know why they're saying what they're saying. PLEASE GET NEW SCHTICK, BEARD BANDS.
