any new information about this? i read in the wire interview that he had figured out a way to perform with only five other people. is it going to consist of a string quartet and someone holding a pork slab? what are the prospects of him coming to AMERICA

sorry if this is a stupid question that nobody can answer except Scott Walker or his manager

I can see the shows now, fire and explosions, "YOU WANTED THE BEST YOU GOT THE BEST, THE HOTTEST SINGER IN THE WORLD...SCOTT WALKER!" And he comes out and quietly sings "On Your Own."

If this happens, I will trade in my Radiohead groupie card for a Scott Walker card.

Do you think he'll bring a butcher along with him:
"CHOICE CUTS OF PORK! FIVE PAND A PAND!! COME ON LADIES KEEP YER MAN HAPPY."

"I 'ad that Scott Walker bloke in me shop the other week, touching up me loins. I says, oi mate can't be 'aving you doin' that, pay up or sling yer bleedin' 'ook! Bugger only starts singin'. Well, I'm not 'aving that, scares the customers."

isn't going to happen. I think he meant hee might write something completely different to tour with a 5 piece. I doubt any of the drift will ever be performed live.

The Drift is much more tourable than the last album, surely.

(My aunt saw him in a v. small venue, supperclub style, circa Scott 1/2. She says it was amazing.)

Dingbod Kesterson, Thursday, 3 July 2008 14:35 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, it has the potential to be a real disaster, a demystifier. And yet it's very Scott too. I mean he's actually producing it and everything, there's the orchestra there ready, and he still won't perform!

Mind you, if he gets Ute Lemper to do Scope J, that would be good.
