a great song, it reminds me of those really early beach boys singles but all prog-ified with the harmonics and stuff.

Just to translate, "stuff" = crappy skank rhythm and the everpresent stench of crapitude. MATTHEW WILDER is responsible for that progification (wherever it may be; perhaps "new wave flatulence" would be a better term).

I quite liked "Hey Baby" but it was kindof my idea to have a Ragga with pinches of Techno revival and then the monkeys copied my idea! Anyone heard that "Stick a Move" by New Flesh - best thing to come out of British Hiphop since Roots Manuva - though i haven't seen it in the shops.

I unapolagetically liked No Doubt when the first made their big splash largely because this song is a whirlwind slice of fun.

I hate fun. Well, let me rephrase, their kind of fun. ;-)

Can I say someone just loaned me "Rock Steady" and I love it? The more pop I listen to the happier I become.

It's weird, out of nowhere they've become my favorite So Cal band. Well, not out of nowhere, but nothing before Rock Steady had really grabbed me.

Gah, clearly I am outnumbered here! Bah! Weird thing is I still have memories of ska-freak friends in 1991 or so talking about how the band was starting to suck now that 'the girl' was taking more lead vocals. Then there's the friend of a friend whose band used to rehearse next door to them around that time -- apparently said friend's band used to make fun of them due to the horrible noises emanating from ND's room.

For awhile part of this song was the outgoing message on my family's answering machine.

Can I say RockSteady is worth every Euro I paid for it. Namely? I got a promo. hahahah Seriously it's hellagroovee.

Well, I just downloaded this and it is not without its crappy skank rhythm charms. And a nice half-hearted fake almost-ending, too.

"Fun" w/r/t music. What is it, anyway?

It's what happens when I listen to the Squirrels, for one.

seventeen years pass...

I listened to Tragic Kingdom last night for the first time in years, and... y'know, if it was about four songs shorter it'd be near-perfect IMO.
