Do I need the Funhouse remaster?

It's one of my favorite albums.

I don't care about the bonus tracks. All I want to know is if the new sound quality is enough to warrant a repurchase.

they gave it a nice matrix/neptunes R&B/pop sheen which i think makes it relevant to the modern consumer. i think that alone is worth buying it for.

Yeah, you do. Even if it sounds just a little better. The original already sounded pretty amazing, there's no real "OMG! I'm hearing stuff I've never heard before! How did they do that!" jawdroppingly revelatory moments, it just sounds clearer and nearer. (I'm hesitating to say it sounds a little more Albini-esque, presence-in-your-room-with-you-wise)

I might get this, I've always felt the original CD version sounded a bit flat. An Albini-esque version of this album would be excellent!

I could've done without the Pharell falsetto chorus on "TV Eye," myself.

i thought the verse from the clipse on down in the street were quite effective. when they were rapping about 'all my people down in the street/know i push so much snow it turns into sleet' i thought it brought the stooges right into the present.

dropping the sax at the end of "1970" in favour of a rosco p. coldchain freestyle might go down as a mistake, though.

im inclined to disagree. the sax was always shit. rosco being there is gonna make thugs like the stooges. and that is all anyone can ask for in this cruel world.
