the bad seed, yes.

haitch (haitch), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:33 (twenty years ago)

'Dwarf on Dwarf' by the Fauves.

The greatest Aust band of all time.

The Velvet Overlord (The Velvet Overlord), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:03 (twenty years ago)

hmm. i think the fauves have had their frankly excellent moments, but they can be extremely patchy

shine headlights on me (electricsound), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

Sometimes patchy its true - but thats more accurate with their LP's. The EP's (or 4 song singles) are occasionally flawless.

How 'bout these too:

Everybodys getting a 3 piece together
Bigger than Tina ('specially the Doctor version)
Sunbury '97
Give up your Day Job
Kickin' on

Of course there's the Hardons, Asteroid B612, Meanies too, so...

The Velvet Overlord (The Velvet Overlord), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:21 (twenty years ago)

the powdermonkeys, straight until morning

haitch (haitch), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:49 (twenty years ago)

and lets not forget

Fur - Find What you like and let it kill you
The Crusaders - Middleage Rampage

The Velvet Overlord (The Velvet Overlord), Friday, 29 July 2005 12:55 (twenty years ago)

DOn't go shopping when you're naked by Cam Bull... ok, so technically it was a cassingle, but it was around 7 minutes long so it counts.

Queen Gimme a canon full of 1927, Friday, 29 July 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)

scientists - blood red river. or lime spiders - slave girl. or, duh, as somebody pointed out on the album thread, ac/dc - '74 jailbreak, which didn't come out until 1984. or maybe one of those first two died pretty EPs (best music they ever made, i think.) (assuming they were in fact EPs, which I believe they were.) but probably ac/dc.

xhuxk, Friday, 29 July 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

Slave Girl's a single, two songs don't make an EP!

kit brash (kit brash), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:19 (twenty years ago)

oh hmm. nah, that's a compilation album. or something.

kit brash (kit brash), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

lucksmiths 'staring at the sky'

keith m (keithmcl), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

actually their 'a little distraction' ep is better

keith m (keithmcl), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:25 (twenty years ago)

SPK "Meat Processing Section"

donut ferry (donut), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:27 (twenty years ago)

(Fuck, that's 26 years ago! WHERE THE TIME GONE DUN'???)

donut ferry (donut), Friday, 29 July 2005 23:28 (twenty years ago)

>Slave Girl's a single, two songs don't make an EP!<

Oops, I meant the six-song EP that "Slave Girl" was the first cut on in the States (Big Time Records, 1986), which was actually called *Lime Spiders*, it turns out.

xhuxk, Saturday, 30 July 2005 16:49 (twenty years ago)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Sunday, 31 July 2005 00:08 (twenty years ago)

I came close to adding it at one point, but every time I think of something (like El Producto, seconds after I posted) I have to hold off because it's not actually as good as Species Deceases.
