I guess if they only played their late-60s stuff, it'd sorta work, but it's hard to imagine someone seeing that bill and going "awesome! My favorite band, Earth Wind & Fire, opening for my second favorite band, Chicago!"

I'll admit, both bands mean something to me. EWF are faves of mine, and Chicago is a guilty pleasure on the singles front.

I do understand old bands playing the oldies circuit, but combining into one band seems like a weird concept -- unless it was Chicago with Blood Sweat & Tears.

Maybe Chicago is just confused as to which 3 word band they're on stage with...
