Am I the only one that caught the Gravity's Rainbow rip in that scene of Trainspotting (the film that is)?

That iz some wankery. How do you object to albums like those if you are willing to put something like that in print...

Gravity's Rainbow rips that off from Ishmael Reed's The Free-Lance Pallbearers. Just sayin.

That was the funniest bits of recent criticism I've read. And true! I love this part:

"On their way from turning the Talking Heads from Jonathan Richman into Spyro Gyra, David Byrne and Eno made My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, cited as innovative by Public Enemy producers the Bomb Squad, among others. What will happen when the crate-diggers discover Eno's old band? (Well, Ice-T did sample "Amazona.") Overall, Music for Films is like the spooky intro to Roxy Music songs such as "Strictly Confidential" or "Ladytron," except not as good."

I loved it, but when I read it I was at first worried that Mr. Queen might be losing his edge a little, because I found the article relatively easy to follow.

The last three sentences are GREAT GREAT GREAT.

xp what's the GR rip?

The Spyro Gyra comment is so brilliantly true it's not even funny.

And now Eno/Roxy made Wilco so unnecessary.

Otm. Good to see Karl Malone got a decent gif gig out of this.

(no really, he would've crushed those bad gifs and made it a 1000 times better)

Breaking up side 2 of Warm Jets would seem to kinda ruin the abrupt transition between "Dead Finks" and "Some of Them Are Old," though I guess it could give you a blissful side 4 if you wanted to leave aside all that racket that makes up most of the rest of the album.
