Songs that sound alike

When I first hear Creed's "Higher" I thought it was "Feel Like Making Love" by Bad Company. Not that it matters as I deeply hate both songs.

I noticed this just last night, trying to play the bass part to Time of the Season.

No it wasn't fuckin' ME and they sound NOTHING alike. The Crue ripped off the middle-eight of "Love Like Blood" for the intro to "Dr.Feelgood", if that makes you feel any better.

You can almost sing one's lyrics over the other's tune, interchangably.

Do you have any reason to believe this was intentional? I haven't heard the Hot Rods song, but the idea of there being a link between these two bands is rather interesting, I think.

Two songs on the same album no less. "Stories" even has a bit of 'the one I love' in the lyrics. "No One" is really the riff more than the way the lyrics work over the song.

Hmmmm.....ish at best.

Yeah the internet is wrong on that. Though it is interesting given the fact that Midnight in a Perfect World also samples a song called "Sower of Seeds".

This might be a stretch, but it just occurred to me that King Floyd's 'Groove Me' and the Rolling Stones' 'Tumbling Dice' have a fairly similar verse structure.

Robyn "Dancing on My Own", Wire "Ahead" don't start entirely dissimilarly.
