I get insomnia and spend a lot of time looking at the ceiling, ranking breads and eggs.

Sliced whole wheat is probably underrated on this list when it comes to "accompanying squash soup" or "as a scoop for pate" but considering its bus-stop ubiquity I ranked it lower than the far less edible (but more easily avoided) itty bitty black bread salmon rounds.
Injera is clammy, sour corpse bread that cools too quickly on the table and absorbs liquid too readily to be used as a vehicle for anything. I would rather eat food off a wet paper towel (usually I just ask for rice instead)

Also New York bagels are just circular bread. Montreal bagels are fleshy, smoky, honey-boiled perfection, responsible for the fullness of Montreal bottoms.

Also I think you're being unfair to injera. I'm not keen, but an entire cusine is pretty much based around it so I suspect the problem is with me and not the bread itself. And pita is excellent, can't beat a bit of pita and humus.
All your other worst breads I agree are a bit yuck. Fuck pumpernickel, like chewing on a tire or something.
What's the name of that Turkish flatbread with sesame seeds on it? I love that.

re: sesame + pita, you are perhaps thinking of zatar? sumac plus sesame? delicious. The condemnation of pita was rooted in an [word that means an evaluative process that glorifies one at the expense of the other] of the spreads and "dishes" that flatbread is assorted with, hummus etc., spreads that will always be close to my fridge but accompanied by better breads. Crackers, even. Pizza + zatar is an especially brilliant combination. Breads in this ranking were filtered by "list of breads" according to wikipedia, papadums made the wiki cut, and papadum is great, also wanted to give props to an unleavened bread in the face of my fu to matzo

soref, thanks for the belligerent tip, I did some watching on YouTube. The Everett stuff I saw was warmed over Python, other than getting real pop musicians in the skits ("bring a celebrity in to do jokes about their own celebrity" is the only thing that has kept Saturday Night Life-Support from flatlining altogether). I'll keep watching Holt, most of the jokes are incomprehensibly local for me, but I'll try. They tried to sell Tracey Ullman in America once upon a time, but I get now that Holt is the original.
Being trapped in my USA worldview, I conclude that Canadians made the two best sketch shows, & that Monty Python travels pretty well across time & space, considering. I can't imagine either of the shows you mentioned crossing the Atlantic or even the English Channel. Not that it should matter to you, of course - being objective about comedy is a joke.

sorry, I didn't mean to sound belligerent, agree that the idea of objective opinions about comedy is silly, and that those two shows are maybe quite location specific and maybe era specific in their appeal (though I'm sure I remember a few US ilxors talking about Acorn Antiques? I like the idea of that having a cult following in the states)

It's all cool! Victoria Holt is obviously good stuff, although a lot of jokes are going to go right past me. And at the very least I need to see the Kate Bush skit on the K.E. show (I do already know the one she did with Rowan Atkinson on his tv show, the song with "do bears la la la....").
