He did the narration on Cosmic Sounds' "Zodiac" so he is obviously CLASSIC

I believe he gets sonically name-checked on The Firesign Theatre's Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers, which he produced (unless that's a different Cyrus I'm thinking of.)

one year passes...
i knew that if there was a thread started on this guy that it'd be started by either gareth, jody or scott.

i picked up his album "Islands" the other day and it's fabulous. laidback acid folk with a bit of eastern instrumentation and jazz. even has a bit of a hawaiian flare. kinda reminds me of a mix of Bobby Brown, Tim Hardin and Tim Buckley.

He did produce the Firesign Theatre's second album; that's him providing what sounds like a pretty stoned booth cue at the end of "Nick Danger."

I know he played the bouzouki on The Dolphins by Fred Neil. Random fact.

gareth, i found his first self titled album on slsk and uploaded it to leonardo. did you get it? do you want it?

i eventually heard that moog record with him on it and wasn't really a fan.

ok i didnt like this so much at first, but its gradually seeped in on me. very warm sounding, californian hippy music. its pretty different to the mort garson/cosmic sounds stuff though!

ah yes, i remember what i wanted to say now, it reminded me of david ackles a bit, a more languid version of.

so is Islands as good as this. and it has a song called dolphins on it, is it the fred neil song? and didnt he maybe play on that anyway?

i think Islands is the better album. Dophins is the Fred Neil song. it's very beautiful. i can send you the album if you want? i digitized my vinyl copy, so it's pretty pop corny.

his version of "Dolphins" appears on the ace Elektra comp Forever Changing...

i'd love you to send me Islands!!

i just realised what the first song on cyrus reminds me of...lou reed sad song a bit
