Superball

I'm currently searching for information on Superball - not the rubbish Canadian indie band, but an altogether odder group of teenage girls from Japan. There's virtually nothing on them on this here interweb - I have been able to find out that Thurston Moore raved over them, they released an audio cassette (which I now have, thanks to Forced Exposure) and a 45-minute tour video (only available in NTSC, I think, and I live in the UK, so I can't watch that). Other than that, very little I know of. So I'm trying to gather enough info on them to start up my own Superball website. I don't really even know their names or the names of the tracks on the audio cassette. Any info at all on them would be greatly appricated - oh yeah, and anyone willing to type out or scan the article on them in Exile Osaka #3 (I would have sent off for it but I believe it's sold out) will be my bestest friend forever.

'Fraid I can't help much, but in the new Wire they're billed in a list of "15 Japanese Erotomaniacs" as "Superball aka Death Fuck aka Miss Osaka, etc".

At the bottom of the list it says "Compiled by The Trawler... taken from the book Japanese Independent Music (reviewed in The Wire 211)".

Don't know if it's any use to you, but there you are.

I got Exile Osaka #5, and I got the Superball video. Sorry man. I really wish I could help you. Truly one bizarre group. Thank God for them though. Bless their hearts.

There's a really good cover band (although diametrically opposed to your Japanese teenagers) here: http://www.superballband.com
Purely for your mindless edification!
