I've poked through the archives, and I still can't figure this out, so could a Boredoms head let me know -- is there any overlap between the 1999 and 2001 versions of Vision Creation Newsun?

nope. i think you're going to have to get the 1999 one through ebay, though.

actually supposedly the eight minute track on the ep is on the 2001 album but i'm almost sure it's a re-edit ... the other 34 minutes on the ep is definitely not on the VCN album.

Cool...something else to keep my eyes open for, I guess, ebay being kind of contrary to my nature. That nature being characterized by cheapness.

1999 VCN EP is:
1. Suncidal Cendencies [edited version of the first song on the VCN album]
2. Moonsidal Cendencies [Moochy Remix]
3. UOREDOMS--11 Aug '99 Live (Total eclipse + grand cross)

1999 box set VCN is:
CD1
1. (Circle) [different edit of "Moonsidal Cendencies"]
2. (Star)
3. (Heart)
4. (Concentric spiral inside circle)
5. ~
6. (Two concentric circles)
7. (Arrow pointing up)
8. (Greek Omega symbol)
9. Zutto ["Forever"]

CD 2
1. (Circle with dot in middle)
2. (Boretronix logo) Live ยท Nov. '98 [Live version of the first track on the full length VCN album]
3. (Sun-like flecked circle)

2000/2001 VCN full length CD is the same as the first disc of the box set. See Pop Kiss Boredoms discography for more stuff.

Also the '99 Warner Bros. Japan version of the CD was released in a cardboard gatefold.

four months pass...
God, Birdman should release the VCN CD2

eight months pass...
Is that a vocal sample of the Congos on Moonsidal Tencendies from the VCN EP? It comes in around two minutes in and gets fucked around with a little and then dissapears. That's wild.

fifteen years pass...

In one of those "Nirvana Baby is 'x' years old" moments:

Nana Futagawa, cover model for VCN, turned 22yo today.

Nana's mom Junco helped organize with EYE a huge exhibition of his t-shirts a couple months ago in Tokyo. According to Junco, three (or four?) of the shirts will be repro'd in collaboration with apparel retailer Beams. Here's Nana posing with the shirts:

time to revisit this amazing record, thanks for revive

The Squalls Of Hate (sleeve), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:41 (four years ago) link

i haven't revisited in a few years. but the last few times i've ventured into the vooredoms zone, i've found that rebore vol 0 has really stood the test of time

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!๐Ÿ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:48 (four years ago) link

in a desert island situation or a situation where my apartment is burning and i only have time to save one family member + either VCN or Rebore 0, i think i'd reach for Rebore 0

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!๐Ÿ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:49 (four years ago) link

possibly using the other hand to grab VCN while using my mouth to verbally yell at my family member to figure out how to get out

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!๐Ÿ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:50 (four years ago) link

I agree, Rebore 0 is a real high point and much more relaxed/gorgeous than the thundering awesomeness of Super Ae and VCN

The Squalls Of Hate (sleeve), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:52 (four years ago) link

fuck i don't have/have never even heard rebore 0...?!?

valet doberman (Jon not Jon), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:53 (four years ago) link

Jon if u ilxmail me I will hook u up, include an email

The Squalls Of Hate (sleeve), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:54 (four years ago) link

it's on youtube too!

i remember running across it on audiogalaxy at the time - just grabbing any boredoms tracks i could, all with really bad metadata and weird titles. imagine dleone's first post above, with 8 different people offering their interpretations of what the titles were. anyway, somewhere in that mess was rebore 0, obviously related to VCN but it goes in a very different direction.

any other rebore0 heads? it is my #1 boredoms, i think

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!๐Ÿ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 28 January 2020 17:59 (four years ago) link

the biggest frustrating missing piece for me is the lack of a release documenting the eye + three trap drummers lineup, those tours were so fucking great. Super Roots 9 (iirc) kind of tries to be this but it's taken from a special date where they had a choir with them and it's not quite on the level of the shows I saw. I have audience recordings of that lineup of varying but mostly crappy sound quality.

sleeve <3 I will mail u
