Here is a link to give you a better idea, it has sound clips in RA format:

I don't usually dig music made for japenese anime series but these recordings struck me as wonderful. The main theme (Tank) sounds a bit like Lounge Lizards and there are a couple of tracks that sound as if they were recorded by Blonde Redhead... See for yourself :-)

Fuck yeah! How cool! Damn, I need that!

Its pretty eclectic stuff with an emphasis on jazz. There's a remix album with Luke Vibert, DJ Vadim, 4hero, Fila Brazilia, Mr. Scruff, Ian Pooley, DMX Crew, and others. DJ Food has remixed Tank too. Yoko Kanno is a pretty accomplished composer too.

My apologies: DMX Krew, not crew. Also I said "too" twice.

Very very cool. Yoko Kanno kicks serious ass, but then again, I also love the series, so I may be biased. :)

Yokko's Macross Plus soundrack was also excellent (Sharon Apple!) Her stuff and the Akira soundtrack are the only anime soundtracks with listening to. Otherwise, anime sountrack music has got to be the worst genre of music ever.

yoko is the best of course

Amazon Prime just added the complete Cowboy Bebop in subbed format for streaming, tempted to rewatch for the first time in a long time.

That is a cool cartoon. I had heard about it for years but only finally saw some episodes last year and the soundtrack really works with the visuals.

Yeah, "Green Bird" is amazing.

Unexpected Yoko Kanno via an Avalon Emerson mix:
41:30: BLEAKER’S COWBOY BEBOP OST “THE EGG AND I” EDIT X BJÖRK, “UNRAVEL” X PILOTWINGS, “CONGO LIBRE”
"... I took a moment to drop the tempo about 20 beats per minute by using a conga loop from an edit Bleaker made of a cut from the Cowboy Bebop original sound track that I piggybacked with a loop of Björk’s voice from the intro of her song “Unravel”."

Huh, found out from the Perfume thread that there's a new 33 1/3rd Japan series, which includes an entry by Rose Bridges on this soundtrack:
