Sad, I greatly enjoyed his score of Robin Hood: Prince of thieves as well as his work w/ Eric Clapton and Metallica. Unfortunate.

wow. RIP

i always used to enjoy the music to the lethal weapon movies (when watching them), without ever feeling the need to listen to them out of context

Even better, he did the marvellous scores for Terry Gilliam's "Brazil" and "The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen". Easily his best work.

Yes, he will be missed.

At the risk of being insensitive:

In "Mr. Holland's Opus," Dreyfuss portrayed a passionate teacher who sacrificed his own ambitions to engage the imagination of his students through music. Inspired by the movie, Kamen established the Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation in 1997 to raise money to make musical instruments available to the nation's children.

How anyone could be inspired by that abomination is beyond me. Plus, how about teaching the little fuckers how to play those instruments?

four months pass...
Have you never considered the fact that musicians can be self-taught? Music is not something you have to "learn" you blind fool. Why would you visit a website honouring Michael Kamen to insult him? Have you nothing better to do? Have a little decency and pay your respects, or atleast refrain from making your ignorant and insensitive comments.

Tuesday November 18th, 2003: On this day, a truly great musician departs up. RIP
