Dying in the name of art is a rubbish art statement though because it's been conceptualised for ages and ages and so even if nobody actually did it it would still feel like nothing new (depending on the manner of death I suppose).

well, i don't know anything about this, but i do know that as i read Dave's question i heard 'I'm Like A Bird' in my head, and suddenly decided i liked it. changed my mind, right there

dave, isn't this more of a chicken or egg question? if i'm like a bird was playing i might have to jump off the building to get away from it whether it was my plan or not.

That's one of my favorite books. Too funny.

Life is more interesting than art, I'm afraid. It wouldn't trivialize life and death to do that. It would make "Like a Bird" sound very funny to those not close to you, though.

I read an interview with the Super Furry Animals ( I think it was them, anyway ) and they suggested "Staying Alive" as a funeral record.
