i too will join that no-B&S list - i don't think i've heard anything by them aside from one France Gall cover.

Neil S, Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:08 (fifteen years ago) link

wait, is this list supposedly made of people who have never heard them before, or wish they had never heard them before and wish to never hear them again? I was under the impression it was the latter...? (though i fall into neither!)

uh oh, the Fall is your #2 artist and pavement is nowhere to be seen in your top 50. don't tell me you're a pavement hater :p

i'm no pavement hater. they are good, but somewhat overrated imo. haven't really listened to them since end of high school/first year of university. they're kind of a cliche "college kid" band. don't mean that in a bad way. they do have some great stand out tracks.

eat skull is pretty great. good live, too.

Harpal, Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:10 (fifteen years ago) link

xp how bout people who don't particularly care for them either way?

Disco/Very (Roz), Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:11 (fifteen years ago) link

i'd like to see them live. they're from portland (or somewhere west? lol like a true new yorker there's new york and everywhere else :p) right? have they come east to tour?

xp roz B&S or pavement?

k3vin k., Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:12 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah, portland. i saw them a few times at sxsw this past year. don't know if they've toured east.

regarding b&s - i'm in the indifferent category. i'd probably rather be listening to country teasers.

Harpal, Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:13 (fifteen years ago) link

belle and sebastian. i like pavement ok.

Disco/Very (Roz), Wednesday, 3 December 2008 21:14 (fifteen years ago) link

It had to be Maiden. Predictable but it just had to be. I thought no 66665 was funny.

I once got kicked out of a B&S concert

I was part of an audience that inspired Stuart Murdoch and Stevie Jackson to walk off stage in a feeble indie strop. Seriously: one of the most pathetic things I have ever witnessed. I remember I tried to have a pop at the latter about it later on; trouble is, I was so drunk that I don't imagine he understood a word of it.

Anyway. If ever a band could fuck off for eternity, etc ...

I once got kicked out of a B&S concert.

What did you do?

Grimly what did the audience do?

Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 4 December 2008 12:34 (fifteen years ago) link

oh and for everyone else to see

also, i was listening to some promos yesterday evening, and who pops along later but...the artist themselves! he has hardly any listeners so obviously i showed up...he is a son of one of the kinks (whoever they are) who makes pleasant electro
