Have you ever gone to a concert that had multiple artists you wanted to see and had none of them cancel out on you?

Many, many times.. the only band I was really angry at for cancelling was Propagandhi when I was in middle school.

Oh, and at Tin Can Fest there were some bands I wanted to see (Books Lie, mostly) but they dropped out. So I guess that day of Tin Can Full of Dreams counts.

The only bands that have ever canxed on me have been the ones I didn't really care for anyway.

I once went to a day-long festival thing featuring firehose, Leaving Trains, Opal, Divine Horsemen, SWA, Universal Congress Of, Henry Kaiser/Elliot Sharp/John French and others, also with promises of free food and drink, and the whole fucking thing was cancelled! I don't know why, the parking attendents had no clue, but I suspect the hosts, a public park, got cold feet over all the "punk rock" kids gathering in one place. This was 1987. I didn't burn all this into my brain, by the way, I saved the newspaper ad.

I went to Glastonbury festival in 1990 (I think) cos Julian Cope was on the bill. He cancelled last minute and was replaced by the Boo-Yaa Tribe (lots of very angry gangster types threatening the audience a lot). Most peculiar. I enjoyed myself anyway but where was Copey??!!!!!

I went to a HORDE Festival once, the lineup was supposed to have been: Neil Young, Primus, Morphine, Beck, Ben Folds Five, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Soul Coughing, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Leftover Salmon, and Medeski Martin and Wood. Instead of Beck, Soul Coughing, and Squirrel Nut Zippers, we got Cake Like, Screaming Cheetah Wheelies (ugh), and some blind albino bluesman (who rocked).

Best gig I ever went to did have the Jam pull out early in the tour, but I knew that, and no one pulled out at the last moment, so I think it counts: the bill was the Slits, Subway Sect, the Buzzcocks and the Clash. The Clash always had terrific support when I saw them - Richard Hell & the Voidoids the next time, and an impressively eclectic pair of the Coventry Specials and Suicide, but I'd never heard of the Specials at that point, so it doesn't quite count.

Oh no! Someone gouged Johnny Winter's eyes out?

I went to go see a Blackalicious/Del double bill at First Ave in 2000 and Blackalicious cancelled/no-showed. Busta Rhymes also no-showed Smokin' Grooves '96 in St. Paul, which was a shame because if he hadn't I might've become a fan a lot earlier.

(A consequence of Busta no-showing: Cypress Hill's set was twice as long. Even the stoners got antsy.)
