It really bothered me when "American Woman" was used for a clothing commercial as a "Yay America!" song.

Same with "Fortunate Son."

I like the song mainly cos my wifes an american and I sing it at parties to annoy her ;-)

What I like about the song is it started as a broken guitar string. Randy Bachman came up with the riff while tuning.
