Used Brit-indie discs in NYC: Suggestions please.

In the process of a major weeding-out of my CD collection, and have piles and piles of early 90's crap that I'd quite like to unload....for money, if possible. I know there's always eBay, but that takes time and postage, etc. I know a handful of joints that buy used cd's like Academy on 18th street and maybe Revolution on Thompson street, but does anyone know of somewhere *specific* who might be especially interested in late 80's/early 90's Brit indie/shoegazer/goth/Madchester crap like: Revolver, Curve, the Milltown Brothers, Chapterhouse, New Fast Automatic Daffodils, The Mission, Happy Mondays, Candyflip, The Hair & Skin Trading Company, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, obscure 4AD'ers like Insides & the Glee Club, Bleach, Adorable, Senseless Things, Mansun, Kula Shaker, etc.? Lots of these are ep's or singles, too.

All suggestions are welcome & appreciated.

Alex I live at 2349B Twekham Drive in Chicago Illinois but I don't get paid until tomorrow.

I can't think of a specific place that would be looking for Brit stuff, but the most money I've ever gotten from used stuff was from Sounds on St. Marks (something like $200 for about 40 to 50 CDs). If you felt inclined, I would recommend trying Other Music and Kim's for the choice discs first, then trying to dump the rest at Sounds.

Try Rebel Rebel. They specialize in English pop imports.

Haha you listened to Kula Shaker? :-)

Yeah, but Dave at Rebel Rebel (where I got a buncha this shit in the first place) invaraibly won't go near used stuff.

Maybe not. I dunno, I've sold stuff there before.

I have a few ep's of Kula Shaker's that I got at since-long-gone Route 66. I remember liking "Hey Dude" and "Tattva" (although neither have aged well in the slightest). But yeah -- they're completley embarassing. I'll hold onto the album (K), but I wouldn't miss this other stuff of theirs for a nanosecond.

I like Kula Shaker's cover of "Hush," but that's about it.

Alex, try Academy, on 18th St. between 5th and 6th Avenues. They will buy EVERYTHING, and I mean paper-covered and CD-R promos, too, and though they're not paying as well as they were last year around this time, they still pay decently, esp for salable stuff.

I know they do, M (I mentioned Academy in the question up top). That's where I usually go, but I was hoping for a somewhere that got excited about this stuff. Academy pretty much take any old things ya bring'em. I'm hoping for someone more specialized.

Something along the lines of Record Runner in the West Village (not on Cornelia -- but a block further west).
