(And from 2022-2025 in "Al Jardine Family & Friends" and "Endless Summer Beach Band," which is the former without Carnie & Wendy, but possibly with Carnie's husband, who is MD for Wilson Phillips.)

There was a reformed version of The (English) Beat in the mid 2000s fronted by Ranking Roger that also featured his son, Ranking Junior and sometimes his daughter Saffren Murphy. Since Ranking Roger died in 2019, Ranking Junior has been performing as The Beat featuring Ranking Junior (not to be confused with The English Beat starring Dave Wakeling, though the former are based in the UK and latter in the US which probably makes things a little easier. idk if any of Dave Wakeling's kids are planning to take up the baton when he passes, but none of them seem to have joined the band yet anyway)

You specified "rock" succession but in country music there is The Carter Family who had five children of the original members get into the act and then later a third generation used the name.

Sublime is now fronted by Jakob Nowell, son of late singer Bradley Nowell.

The Cowsills are sort of the opposite of this, because they started out as a kids' garage band and then later their mom joined the band
