dammit, there's already a thread for this. oh well. TALK ABOUT IT HERE ANYWAY!

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Saturday, 7 December 2002 08:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Ryan gets all precious and thorny when people say "Hey Brian" at him, then accuses Jack of being a "little girl" and a "movie star"? What a fuckin' asshole.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 7 December 2002 09:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Calling Ryan Adams an asshole = calling Flava Flav crazy. OF COURSE he's an asshole, his whole musical ouevre is built around that!

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Saturday, 7 December 2002 14:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Lst's just hope he doesn't go for Har Mar.

Nate Patrin (Nate Patrin), Saturday, 7 December 2002 15:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Ryan Adams turned down a role because he felt he was a rock star and not a movie star, and Jack White picked it up because he didnt see a problem with it (cause there really isnt one), and this made Ryan Adams mad? I dont get it.

According to the article, the only thing Jack White even said to Ryan Adams was "I see you've been changing the lyrics to my song in concert."

Yep. Ryan Adams is an ass.

Ryan Adams is my main man! He is the new Dylan! I will fight anyone that thinks any different.

Chris Ryan (chrisryan), Saturday, 7 December 2002 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

"I mean, shit - I get to shop at 40 or 50 more stores for clothes than that guy does."

Gee and I wondeer why I don't read NME....

brg30 (brg30), Saturday, 7 December 2002 22:43 (twenty-three years ago)

"ponce"

ron (ron), Saturday, 7 December 2002 23:05 (twenty-three years ago)

but Chris Ryan, do you flip out when people call you Chris Bryan?

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 8 December 2002 00:41 (twenty-three years ago)

"ponce"

That stuck out for me too. It's a bit suspicious. Would Ryan Adams really use that word? I think the NME are just making it all up, as they usually do.

Chriddof (Chriddof), Sunday, 8 December 2002 01:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Ryan Adams the new Dylan? You mean like Steve Forbert?

Ryan Adams is a fucking poseur. Bob Dylan and Jack White are the real deal.

Jim M, Monday, 9 December 2002 01:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Bob Dylan and Jack White are both gigantic poseurs (only Dylan is great at it and thus The Real Deal!)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Monday, 9 December 2002 01:36 (twenty-three years ago)

HAHAHAHAHA "I get to shop at like 40 or 50 more stores than he does" is the greatest insult EVER PUT DOWN IN HISTORY. Holy shit. Hey Jack White you bitch why don't you wear something besides red and white?! HAHAHAHAHA oh god. I hope that all of it is true, and that Ryan Adams is really this upset over Jack White asking him not to change song lyrics, cos that makes it even funnier.

i 'member being at the von bondies' maida vail peel session about a year ago, which jack'n'meg attended after filming their top of the pops appearance and meeting paul mccartney. they brought ryan with them, primarily it seemed because meg and ryan kept making googly eyes at each other. the aftershow, of sorts (cake and crisps and fizzy pop in the studio mixing room), was hilarious, ryan aping and mugging for attention and sitting around with a comb stuck in his hair (like he was ?uestlove with a blowout stuck in his fro), waiting for people to ask why he had a comb stuck in his hair. pathetic.

Ryan Adams is a overrated twerp.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 December 2002 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Would it be unethical to start a petition requesting a large, unscrupulous man in a trenchcoat repeatedly kick Ryan Adams in the crotch?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 December 2002 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

No indeed. And I shall help spread the word.
