combines emo & afrobeats (turns out the guitar lines aren't that different really) with jersey club, sped-up vocal samples, and whatever else he feels like for some of the most effortlessly fresh pop there is at the moment. his recent album homeless n*gga pop music is already a classic to me, my only complaint is his tracks are so short and i wish he'd let his ideas breathe

he kind of feels like the first great post-The-1975 rapper, if that makes any sense whatsoever

if the 1975 were more inventive and had put emo guitars all over their electronic beats then they'd be about halfway to sounding like this i guess

well yeah, transcending the influence and all that

loraine james is sort of in this mood space but this is a lot shinier / poppier obviously. it's lovely.

Bizarrely slow burn album for me. I’ve listened to this a couple of times since it came out, always liked it but never felt gripped. Suddenly this week I want to hear it every day

it's so good, still one of my favourites of the year
