A Little Darker - the garage mc-ing companion to A Little Deeper. Is it actually out yet? What's on it? Any good? etc.

Didn't she just say that's what she was thinking of calling her next album?

Also: am I the only one who was disappointed with the Osunlade remix of "It Takes More"?

Mark, I'd read that she was releasing/had released a limited edition (and possibly quite short) 'companion' to the her first album with just the garage tracks she's done so far.

Tim, here's what I read.

Tim is it possible that this reviewer was confuzzled by the NME piece?

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 2 December 2002 01:05 (fifteen years ago) Permalink

Or (mock horror), maybe the NME got their facts wrong. (!!!)

Ms. Dynamite mentioned the ...Darker record while promoting ...Deeper last Summer. However, it has still not been released.

Did anyone get her second LP that came out last year? Is it worth anything?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 24 May 2006 12:52 (eleven years ago) Permalink

It must have been one of the biggest flops of the year.

"A Little Darker" is the first mixtape/compilation put together by Illa State Records. Recorded between November 2005 and April 2006 this DOUBLE CD features many of the UK's brightest up and coming and already established mc's, singers and producers many of whom are working together for the first time. The recording process saw more than 70 different artists come together (out of nothing but love) to produce more than 40 tracks! The result is a hard-hitting blend of hip-hop and grime, which runs the full gauntlet of emotions, styles and personalities. Through this mixtape we are trying to bring some unity to our ever-fragmenting scene and prove that working together as opposed to being divided and controlled by boundaries not only produces the best material but is also best for business. This Mixtape also Showcases Ms Dynamites Long awaited return to the spittin arena and believe she is in better form than ever! DOUBLE CD!!!
