continuing to catch up on 2022 things. first noticed samuel shabazz on the top$ide-produced "wavy gang immortal" babyface ray's 'mob.' turns out he dropped his own tape in august and it's pretty great. sounds a bit like ray but more melodic and romantic, with some peezy-esque hustler talk mixed in.

it's a change of pace to rap over an icewear vezzo-type beat, instead of the smoother sounds he'd been working, but what can i say, shit is hard

to my astonishment, the Grammy award 50 years of hiphop thing was incredible

yeah it was honestly a pretty great moment. idk why they devoted so much time to busta’s “look at me now” verse, not exactly a watershed moment in the genre’s history imo
