This album feels very 2022: it's hard not to immediately hear and categorise it as "post-Billie". But its particular combination of rock, R&B, acoustic confessionalism, and slight inflections of jazz and even bossa nova, frequently exquisitely arranged notwithstanding that Lizzy leans somewhat into a performative youthful spontaneity, feels quite singular and very charming to me, while also being at the very dead centre of a whole bunch of ~vibes~ I enjoy - like she's listening to Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker on headphones but then has Emily King and Meernaa offering their views in the studio. Anyway, it comes highly recommended from me.

'post-billie' is accurate but also very post-"drivers license" in how much she's drawing on indie singer-songwriter stylings. ends up finding a really nice sweet spot between those two sides, all blends very organically
the arrangements & production are also impeccable, the songs are very good on their own but pretty much every track has something really interesting going on that takes it to the next level
she's surely set to be a huge star soon?
