this breaks down theory vs practice imo

theory: obviously string quartet

practice: solo piano

if anyone could post examples of string quartet music that isn't in some way naff that'd be nice tho

how i break it down to an extent - there are so many great string quartets and when i'm in a phase it feels like the optimum expression of composed music vs ensemble playing and listening but then when i'm listening to a really great pianist i think the piano is the most perfect self-contained instrument in existence and i could just listen to solo piano forever
