New album "Life, and Another" just released on Paradise of Bachelors

Dolphine was excellent and seemed to me to slip through the cracks. Took a while for me to digest, but several of the songs on there eventually became favourites.

Connections to Big Thief, if that's of interest.

I gave a listen to the new one over the weekend, I like it, need to listen to it some more to have any real thoughts about.

Isn't a Mega Bog where people used go to munch some more shrooms between Eat Static and System 7 sets?

Dolphine really is super. It comes out the gate strong and has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. I'm enjoying "Life, and Another" so far. Maybe not at Dolphine level ("Station to Station" felt underwhelming as first single, but I find it works pretty well on the lp), but it's still a nice ride.

That said, there's a part of me that gets a little nervous about all the 70's signifiers/textures/etc. Feel like US Girls went from a fairly modern / occasionally surprising sounding act to a much more conservative dad-rock (dad-disco?) concern within a couple of records. I mean, I love disco... and if somebody wants some Andy Mackay-style sax too, who am I to protest, but... it all seems to so easily devolve into something far less interesting. I hope that isn't what's happening here.

But that's just me being worried about the NEXT record. I'm still enjoying this one...
