Gasoline Alley is the second solo studio album by the British singer-songwriter Rod Stewart. It was released on 12 June 1970. Originally released in the UK by Vertigo Records. It is a collection of covers combined with Stewart's own compositions. Like many of Stewart's solo albums from the period, it featured significant musical contributions from the other members of his band Faces.

I'm fond of the last three songs on this, but I agree that the title track feels like a folk/rock standard. I also like that he just sings it straight, he doesn't feel the need to juice it up with asides and (supposed) ad libs like he often does.
